Update:

Motor in and bolted down. Transmission is secured. Was going to install the driveshaft, and couldn't find 4 of the bolts for it. Gonna have to check with Toyota tomorrow and see if they have them.

Update:

Sharp Hydrographix has been putting in work on these valve covers. The shop I used to weld the fittings did a sloppy job. I definitely won't be going there again.

But Sharp Hydrographix has been great. They have excellent communication, as he sends me updates almost every day. He still has to put the clear on, but it looks amazing already. I highly recommend them for projects like this.

Looks great brother. Hope I get to see this car in person someday.

I had the same problem with my ge cover and getting them welded. Reason being they are not aluminum, that's why it looks "sloppy". My Welder tried to weld on some bungs than stopped because it looked like crap and didn't want his name on it. If you look inside the cover you will see them marked "Mg" for magnesium.

Keep up the good! I keep checking in to see progress!

Update:

Got some things in today. The TRD oil cap is hot fire. Also got in the valve cover gaskets and water neck gasket.

Also bought 2 bottles of the Royal Purple Manual Transmission fluid. And got in some more bolts from Toyota. I would like to have the engine finished by next weekend. Hopefully I won't need any more bolts.

Update:

Got the valve covers back from Sharp Hydrographix. They look great. The TRD cap is an excellent touch too I think. It will be on the car shortly.

Also connected the shift lever and linkage connected, and topped off the transmission fluid. Now I can sit in the car and throw around gears like a fool. So everything under the car is connected or bolted in, except for the speed sensor connector on the trans. I will connect it when I get the harness routed in the engine bay. I will continue connecting stuff up. Fuel pressure regulator is next and whatever little mounts in the engine.

Did I say this valve cover is ****?

Update:

Did major work today, got so many things installed. Pretty much the only things left are the intake manifold, wiring harness connections, intercooler piping, fan, fan shroud, power steering line, fluids, blah blah.

I do have to install an -AN fitting on the turbo inlet pipe for the catch can. I will also have to make the lines too. I have some new coolant hoses coming Tuesday. I noticed that we somehow cracked the oil filter housing, not the actual oil filter, and so I will have to go to the junkyard in the morning. There is 1 SC300 at upullandpay. I hope the engine is still there. Overall not a bad day, tomorrow will be just as long.

So as I suspected, Upullandpay didn't have the part I needed, the whole motor was gone from the car.

I need one of these If anyone has one, please let me know ASAP.

Ok cool. I am checking to see if I can get it welded locally first. If that can't happen, then I will contact you.

Meanwhile at the Bat Cave:

While at the junkyard I found a RX300 with a steering wheel. I took it and installed it into my car. If I find a 2001 RX300 with the wood grain steering wheel, I will take that too. I like the 3 spoke wheel so much more.
