Good eye, OLT. I didnt even see it. Honeslty, I have never had a broken door, but after been on here for several years now, I have heard of it more often lately. I will inpsect it better when I get home. I did like the idea of the LS and GS chrome/polish upgrade. I just thought the plain black would be a better fit on this particular interior combo.
I will be sending you some needles and a climate control with a new LCD for repair in the next week, so be on the look out.

That was the plan. I am also going to liquid nail all the cracks on the underside and strengthen the door panels. The passenger side is a bit worse compared to the driver side.

The odor is there once its sprayed. This is like anything else. After it is installed and completely cured the smell is completely gone. My car still smells like a Lexus even after a few years..

The carpet will be dyed with RIT Dye from Walmart. I did this with mine also and it turned out great. The problem that some have had is the slight shade of purple once it is dried and cured. If this happens I will completely spray the carpet over the dye with the same color paint black landau. I didnt have to do this with mine but that doesn't mean that it wont happen with this one. The part of the carpet that the dye won't work on is the plastic foot rest and directly under the driver side mat. I will scuff and prep then spray directly with SEM.

looking real good. Are you painting the leather bits or just replacing them? I been thinking of converting to a black interior as well. Mostly I want to fix all the cracked panels and such but go black to hide the mistakes and future cracks.

The only part of this interior that is true leather is the arm rest. The rest of the interior is either plastic or vinyl. His seats have been recovered with material that I call pleather. The rear seats have been done in the SEM for plastic and vinyl. It is also flexible and weatherproof. I did advuse Jay that eventually it might come off but this is only where high wear and tear is like the lumbar on the front driver seat. This car is mostly to drive on weekends and to car meets not a daily driver. This paint if prepped and cleaned properly will last a long time as mine has for over 2 years now.

Made more progress today, Not much but it takes so long to properly prep and clean and paint all these darn plastic pieces.
Removed headliner:
Visors gone:
Found the shifter boot and cover plate like this:
Where the calk had dried and started to peel away:
Center vents destroyed:
Plastic pieces painted, somewhat:
Headliner with first coat of paint:
Painted the sunroof shade and handle:
Headliner reinstalled, found several broke tab and Velcro no longer works. Fixed wit new tabs:
Looks kinda gray but it doesn't look this way in person.
