Default Bolts

Hey Nismo, do you know what size and maybe nuts are the ones that bolt up to the Collins Adaper plate?

Because I just recently picked up a KA24DE trans and it didn't come with no bolts.

Thanks.

I'm not sure of the size, but make sure you get the right length bolts. In some areas on the adapter plate it butts up to the block and if the bolts are too long they will hit the block and not tighten down all the way. I'm pretty they are SAE also.

Couldn't tell you. While the trans was out I bolted the adapter plate to it and marked where the threads ended, went to the hardware store and got some bolts with the threads about 1/4" shorter than being flush with the back of the adapter plate.

Not yet, haven't really gotten around to working on it too much. Mini's had problems I've been trying to solve since November, and they effectively canceled drift events in CT. Only club that organized it got chased out of lime rock over stupid insurance demands so I'm going to be fixing the car up and putting it up for sale and using the money to restore and swap a MK2 Jetta I picked up and then possibly looking for a condo or house. Sucks, wish I could of gotten to drift it more . I had to restore my iPhone and lost your #. Shoot me a text sometime if you still have mine.

If you search the forum, there are threads and posts that explain how its done.

On the NSS connector there is two thick wires. They are a lot thicker than the rest. You must jump the two of them together for it to start. On the connector itself, I just put a 10amp fuse in. It fits perfect into the connector and I didn't splice any wires. Although at some point I do want to clean up my wiring.

Depends on what year the car is. 90-92 should not throw any codes. I don't have the ABS or Auto trans ECU in the car anymore.

My wifes is a 93 with abs. So far I havent unhooked the abs stuff that was in the way of the master cylinder. I just unbolted the mounts and floped it over to the side. If that garbage will still work leaned over on its side I'll just fab some new mounts for them, but otherwise it'll all just come out.
I'll look into that nss connector. It seems like i'll just wire it to the switch in the clutch pedal assembly so it'll start like a normal 5 speed.

If you want to hook the NSS up to the clutch pedal, you just take the two wires that you jump and run them into the pedal. Pretty simple.

As far as the ABS stuff. The only stuff I took out was that stuff sitting right next to the brake booster. I left everything else over on the passenger side. There is one hard line that goes from the ABS unit by the brake booster to the distribution block on the passenger side. All I did was put a plug in the distribution block where that hard line went in to it.

I'm pretty hard on my car and drive the crap out of it. My brakes get worked hard every time I'm in it. I've even had a couple close calls with traffic and what not and I have yet had the brakes lock up. Even in the rain I haven't had them lock up. This is all with spirited driving. Under normal driving conditions you wouldn't notice a difference.

I don't know if it would matter but I do have some brake upgrades though. 95+ brakes in the front and stainless braided lines on all four corners.

I hate to be that guy, but ive just been watching this thread for a while and made an account to comment, but whats goin on with this build?, any more footage of it drifting, and your buddies video almost has 10k views so I think its time for another.

also how much do you think the trans swap has cost total (I know there are many ways to do it) but I kinda want an outline to see if I can sell my 240

I think Nismo's swap cost around the same as mine. I spent around 1800-2k total. That's with me doing all the fab work myself just like he did. My swap is pretty much the same as his. Only minor differences.

Honestly couldn't tell you how much I have into just the 5spd swap portion of it, but I'm about $9k into the car with car included. As for the car, it sits at my garage with an obliterated axle. I'm going to replace it, swap the trans out and list it for sale. Trying to buy a house so I'm liquidating stuff I don't use and since the nearest drift event is 100+ miles I have lost interest in the sport. Too much of a drive, not enough reward.
