Good color choice, I'm jealous of how well maintained the body and interior are. But the body kit, wheels, ebay tails and headlights need to go ASAP. Return the body to stock, and you'll be gravy. Other than that, you have a great platform to start out with.

Default How much would a return to stock (97 Style) cost me?

I like that idea. I have the original body parts (1 light plastic lens broken) including the 95 bumper. Maybe I could sell those for a few bucks and buy the 97 parts (eventually).

How much would it cost to convert to stock (97)?

I'm open to ideas but fresh out of loot. Please offer economical suggestions.

That bumper makes me want to thro up but take the bumper side skirts and wheels off and you have a nice car. But harsh price tag even with the sc's becoming very popular lately.

Well I would remove the kit, tails and wheels and be stoked to drive it. With your feel of taste I wouldn't go with 20's...

I'd like to improve the look of the wheels for very little money. I'm going to sell the chromes. Any suggestions on something sporty and classy that is inexpensive? Even a great stock wheel? I actually purchased it with SC430 rims and Blizzaks included but I must go pick them up in Boston.
Would they look OK?

That depends on which SC430 wheel you have. The early ones (pie plates) are throw up worth IMHO. Later years looked better.

A stock gs400 wheel is fine, and there are other lexus wheels that look good. See the wheel thread.

As soon as you get this car to OEM standards it will be one of the cleanest around.

Color and Interior are nice, other than that well.......... color and interior are nice.
#1 Rule: Dont modify your car for someone else's taste, drive the car that you like.
But if you wanted an opinion, there really is no cheap way to go to 97+ body for cheap. Probably going to be $1100+ IF you are fortunate (not including paint and install). A more economical way would be if you went back to pre 97 stock body with a nice 400 lip. Then maybe throw some MKiV Supra wheels on it and it will help it out a lot.

congrats on the ride man...that was the nice now for the not so nice....you way over payed bro...and man for the money you will spend just to get rid of all the garbage the previous owner put on the car you could have turbo,d an affordable 96 down model...but ya live and learn.... Im still kicking myself for not waiting for a 5 speed model....or at least a 97+ now Im stuck with an auto 96....and Im 2.5k in the hole just to fix the windows, lights and door panels....lol....

The car was actually 5K with stock wheels ultimately. I purchased those (ugly) chromes with new tires and a set of 18in SC430 rims with Blizzaks in addition to the stock rims with tires for a few hundred more (if you close your eyes, all those wheels and tires are a great deal). There are people in NYC that will LOVE to buy these wheels as soon as I find my next rims.

I have to pick them up but I keep forgetting, It comes with all the 95 parts. I put them into storage but I have to go back with a truck for the bumper.
As a result, I will forget about the 97 idea and go stock. The bumpers nice as the rest of the car, I don't even need to paint it.

I shopped for a bit and I have not seen anything cleaner for anywhere near the price.
Yesterday, I registered with Lexus and I have 14 YEARS of Lexus service records for this car. PAGES and Pages of info. EVERYTHING done to the car has been documented. Even the in Remote Radar/Laser system was done at Lexus.
I have never had a smoother motor. It truly sounds brand new or pretty mean when you hit it (injen intake/magnaflow exhaust. I will post video of it idling.

It looks a lil wacky right now but it actually comes with the parts to fix it back to stock.

In my search I drove 7 cars. There was nothing remotely close to the drive, ride, condition.
After 4 days of driving it.
I LOVE the car i found and the price I paid. Ugly kit n wheels n all.

Thanks guys.
