did alot of work last week on my day off (wed&thurs) since i am trying to make it to a local drag race event that is this coming sunday. but the way things are looking it doesnt seem like i will make it & i dont wanna rush things since its 6 days from now. but the good news is, its almost done =)

last week, i drill and tap my xspower ffim and also welded a GTE iacv flange on it

that day i also picked up some blank garrett endtanks to weld up on my garrett 4.5 intercooler

welded up to the core

=)

made this bracket for the powersteering reservoir that i made

welded up

and mounted

looking good man! question. are you running front sway bars? I like how you did the passenger side inter cooler pipes. Wondering if the sway bars will be in the way?

Where you located in the cali?

Sway bar still in the car as you can see it in that picture.

Ive always ran my IC piping like that under the sway bar for the clean look.

i will not be running a front sway bar, this car is gonna be for drag racing and since its going straight im not worried about the sway bar. by removing the front sway bar it gives it better suspension travel to the rear.
im located in the bay area, ca

i could of cleared the sway bar if i ran one. but i think this route is way better then cutting up the pass side.

weather was pretty ugly today, it was pouring here and there. so i couldnt do much since my car is outside.

when i was pulling the motor out, we got into a lil accident and hit the a/c radiator. so today i welded it up.

prep'd the area to be welded

and then welded shut

i also installed the trans cooler onto the a/c radiator while i had it out of the car already.

ill be ordering some materials for my exhaust, planning to go 4" from the dp all the way to a split dual 3" to a vibrant 1127 muffler.

Great build so far, glad you're keeping the GE internals, this is awesome motivation for those thinking about spending too much on a GTE swap and not keeping or even building the GE. Perfectly good motor!

im a budget builder, and if the GE has been proven to be almost the same as the GTE bottom why not? the only thing what the GTE has over the GE is they have alot of camshaft options.
