Removed the rear struts and found huge holes.

Tried to plug the holes with this stuff but to no avail. I will definitely get an air suspension kit when funds permit.

My interior is terrible. I found a guy who does very good work and is willing to redo ALL the interior leather with new leather for about U$900. That is the best price I have found and will go for it. I have set a date with him for January 2013. I cant wait.

Wow that interior was bad. But that sounds like a very good price for a completely redone interior

Also found this when removing the struts. A bent height sensor 'arm'. I straightened it the best I could and once I put everything back the car was level again but still with a leaking rear strut. Can't wait for the aftermarket air kit.

Tuha, are you really planning to continue with this car? Sorry for saying, but it looks even terrible for a junkyard car. Why dont you import a Celsior from japan? You can buy them for 1500$ at auctions. Always very low km's on them and most in veryyyy nice shape.

As far as i can see at the pics this car is totally raped ! (dont know if i say this right, lol)

Hey Dutchy, i agree with you somewhat but 'The Beast' (this is what my kids call her) has grown on me now. i wanna restore this baby to her former glory and better. I just have to be patient and understand that it will take FOREVER!! Step by step. One agonizing step at a time.

Decided to try and find out why the power tilt and 'slide' of the steering wheel was not working. This forum has so much useful info. I opened up the steering column but it seems like the motor is not responding at all. Must be a fuse. Will check that soon once I have my instrument cluster and steering wheel back on.

welcome and i am glad you are taking the time to conquer this. how does the motor run? if the components like suspension and interior need love, the motor will surely need attention as well.

i laughed when i saw the bottle of "FUG IT" haha. clever name! also from your thread title "nam", i was thinking vietnam. regardless i'm glad to see more international folks on here and benefiting from the wealth of information available.

Yeah, I laughed too when I saw that stuff. Pity it didn't work. Most people immediately think of Vietnam when they see Nam. Namibia is a little known country even though we have had a number of celebrities visit, film and even have their kids over here.

It was only after I bought this car that I saw another Celsior here. Then I saw a third and today a fourth one.

This is also my first project so I'm keen to see it through. The motor runs very well actually. There is a check engine light but I'm pretty sure that once I get the car back on its feet again i will soon sort it out. There truly is a wealth of info, knowledge and experience available on CL and I'm stoked to be on here.

Namibia is a well known country. Its just that here in the us, the term Nam, always refers to Vietnam. We all know about Namibia though.

I too am happy to see different countries represented in this forum.

And I know it, you never see any ls/celsiors untill you buy one. Now you see every single one one the road.
