All you have to do is preheat the cast part and turn up the heat on your machine. It will weld just fine. That's how I do turbo housings.

The engine in yet Richard ? Hope you get that 1200rwhp you are hoping on that NA-T this time ! That pump would surely help you get there.

Not yet, Doing some change's to the motor..... again. New manifold setup coming and bigger turbo. Possibly a 80mm. Sold the manifold and dp setup for a decent deal to "upgrade" to a better flowing setup to maximize hp potential. Aside from that, my wife and I are looking for a new home which is keeping us busy.

The new manifold might be a vband setup and a single 60mm gate. Trying to do my research on the vband turbo's vs the standard t4 turbo. Pro's, taking the turbo off will be a second vs dealing with 4 bolts on the t4 flange. I also like the idea of being "different" on an GE motor and will be a permanent setup I'll stick with. Cons, I will be stuck with that turbo/manifold setup and not have as many turbo options.

If anyone has more info or suggestions on that type of setup, please chime in.

you sure you want to go with the Vband manifold ? Looked into them in the past due to the ease of installing and removing turbo but then I found out that there are very limited options for turbos you can install . Knowing our tendencies , we are never satisfied .. we love to upgrade so I might not have better turbo options. Then also how many times really do we have to take of that turbo ?

But with your welding skills , which I still envy , it isn't hard to go back to the traditional T4 anyway so no harm trying the Vband now . Kudos for wanting to be different and trying all possibilities !

My exact thought after thinking this through and looking at what combinations are available. The vband turbo's are still evolving and there are not that many turbo options to go with vs the standard t4 turbo. So, I opted to stay with a twin scroll t4 turbo manifold. That way if I don't like how the 80mm turbo performs, I can step it back down to a 76mm.

On a side note, If anyone is interested in my CCW wheels ill be putting them up for sale when I get some time to take them off and clean them up. There is a 8.5 certified SC300 shell for sale for 2k from my tuner that I want to grab. All it needs is motor and drive train and some paint. If I can get these wheels sold, id love to pick up that shell. If not, Ill be getting the front weld RTS wheels to complete the drag wheel setup.

are you selling the damn new CCW I sold you ? dang it , I wish I can get them back . I am bringing home later today another very clean 1999 SC400 silver in color , clean black interior , MKIV brakes all around , Stance CoilOvers, very nice deep dish wheels for $2500. I don't even need the dang body which is very clean. All I need is the whole 97+ body kit , Stance Coilovers , very clean black interior , complete MKIV brake system and deep dish wheels. Am installing them on a 1992 I am preparing for the APTech Wide Body Kit. The body of the 1999 , I will just discard or give it free to anyone who need it here locally but no body kit , maybe sell some left over parts locally to get back some of my money hahaha. I still have two clean shells sitting in my back yard. If you were near , got a number of shells sitting , lol.

text me how much you are selling them and what tires are in there right now and I will see if I can ask my daughter to rebook our hotel rooms into the cheaper hotels a bit further the super bowl stadium and whatever I save I will get the wheels , hahaha.

question for you ... one of the 3 1997 SC300 original 5speed I have , I want to build a high hp 2jzGE VVTi setup. Will your old dual wastegate knockoff exhaust manifold accomodate a 76mm turbo . I am referring to the first runner not touching the compressor housing ? It is single scroll right ? If I add a QSV , you think with a 76mm , I can still close the hood ? I ask because the guy to whom you sold it is selling it . Since you have braced it , I trust your work it will hold the high exhaust pressures of a 1250rwhp GE setup.

Its perfect for a 76mm turbo. The 71mm uses the same BW frame as the 76mm so the over all size of the turbo is the same and will not touch the hood. The dual gate setup will work just fine. I didn't have an creep issues. Yes, it is an open scroll manifold but I welded a t4 divided "spacer" onto it to eliminate the use of using two gasket instead of one and so the compressor doesn't hit the first runner. But adding a qsv to it might cause the turbo to hit the hood?

Did I buy the rear ccw from you awhile back? lol I had to order the fronts directly from CCW because they don't make the Race Classics anymore unless you special order them. Only selling because I want to either get the front Weld wheel setup to go with the 15s I got from you or go for that 8.5 certified caged SC if he still has it when I get rid of the wheels.

I have done 3 turbo setup with vbands. I am currently running a tial gt42 vband housing to go with a 7675 gt42 precision turbo. The vband turbine housing actually flows better. I am working on building a drag sc for a buddy of mine and I'm back in an sc300 as well.

I actually cant agree with you on the vband housing flowing better. Every thread that I have read has stated that the vband housings only flows about 5% more then a standard housing. Yes its a 5% gain but, the price tag for a vband housing vs standard for only 5% gain is not worth it. If it were 30-40% then maybe I would consider it. I will stick with whats been tried and true for now until that technology has progressed a bit more.

Finally finished getting the seats mounted and the harness all squared away. Wish it would sit lower but it is what it is.

For the 5th point of the harness, I cut an opening in the seat to except it. Then ran a long bolt through the chassis to mount it.

Did some coating last week. Got tired of the up keep of polished parts so I powder coated them wrinkle black.

Before spraying the powder. Outgasing or burning off any oils left from cleaning the parts in the oven before spraying. This helps to get the powder to stick easier while parts are warm as well. I do this with every part I do. Valve covers, catch can and power steering tank.

Sprayed before getting cured. Turbo intake pipe, rad overflow and cold side IC pipe. I think I may do all the intercooler piping as well but not 100% sure yet.

Swing on by, cali is always nice year round. . Coating is quite simple, just buy a used oven and a simple spray gun from harborfreight or Eastwood and get your powder from prismatic powders. Only limit you will have with a used oven is the size of parts you can do. That's why I made an oven so I can do larger items and wheels up to 19s.
