This is the first time having an auto in this car so its all new stuff to me as well. The Trans temp got up to 207 at some point which is way to hot for my liking. I have one B&M cooler in front of the radiator thinking that might be enough to keep the trans happy. So by adding the second with tthe fan should help.

I'm also thinking to put my two radiator efans i have laying around in front of the first cooler and engine cool that are both in front of the radiator to help with air flow. So two pusher fans and the clutch fan pulling.

Not a bad idea. I only have the big jegs cooler with the fan and push my car hard at times and I have my trans temp gauge rtd right after the outlet of the trans itself and I never see over 170. So you should be good!

Your 3800 stall converter doesn't help either on your tranny temp. Put enough coolers to bring it down to around 175F on a stop and go traffic. It's easy when you are moving but , you will see how effective your coolers are on a standing still or stop & go traffic.

Last night I decided to finally install the driftmotion power steering cooler kit.

Out with the old....

In with the new. The original color was silver but decided to paint it black.

Here is a pic of the 15" fan as the pusher infront of the coolers that sit in front of the radiator.

Since the bumper is off, thought it would be a good time to upgrade the ebay 3" intercooler. I got an awesome deal on a Garrett 5" interooler core with end tanks that I started to weld up.

Wow you made the power you did before through a ebay intercooler? Good stuff! I would imagine the new core will allow for more consistent intake temps and less heat soak, less prone to knock and more timing!

Haha yea I was also surprised. This monster should do me very well! I'm glad I picked this up from SF a week ago. I hope to be back on the road by Sunday. Stay tuned.

I believe that's what the 3" intercooler is. A cxracing type but still looks like a typical ebay intercooler lol

Intercooler is all welded up. Started to make the mounts but forgot to snap a pic. Should have it mounted and ready for a pressure test by this Friday.

My welding skills are getting better an better every time i pick up the torch. Pretty pleased on how it came out.

On another note, how close are folks putting the intercooler to the crash bar to get the most out of the cooler.

I drilled holes through the crash bar and bolted mine to it. they are "one" now =)
not sure if it helps or hurts cooling, the crash bar kinda covers a 1/4 of the front of it

Thanks Ali. I decided to put mine about a 3/4" away from the crash bar. I am thinking air could possibly travel into the upper area of the intercooler.

I got the the inercooler pressure tested and put back in the car which I didn't snap any pic's of :/. I had to shorten some of my intercooler pipes but that took about an hour. I pressure tested the cooler by filling it will mostly water and applying about 10-14psi of air to see if any of the welds have pin holes in which I found 2 of. Closed those up and she was ready to go.
