97 SC300 Repaint + Build
I bought my 97 sc300 2 years ago with 161,500 miles.
The car is in the bodyshop. I am painting the car white. Paint code 077.
My plans are to have a DD that is somewhat sporty and a little quick with about 330 rwhp and still have a luxurious feel to it.
Repaint is on Page 2

big mistake changing the color of your car IMO,,are u going to do the inner doors and trunk/hood/engine bay inner too?
and 8.5's are very skinny for these cars u will not have to roll or pull anything at all,,but your bore is too big,,ours are 60.1 iirc, so ull need hubcentric rings.

Yeah I think it's star fire pearl and yeah i figured the bore would be a problem. I might start looking at other wheels and yes everything is being painted minus the engine bay. It really doesn't bother me at all I just hate all the different colors on my car.

I really would just get a fresh coat of renaissance red to be honest, then you won't have to worry about things not matching. The wheels are wrong for more reasons than just the bore the size is just wrong as well.

Starfire Pearl is a nice choice IMO, but as others have said...you'll be safe if you go back with the original paint choice? If you're hell bent on SFP-and you can afford a complete change: jams, etc then go for it! If you're up for suggestions. You could save a little in the engine compartment (I would go a flat black with clear, so there's no fading and accent my other pieces with SFP and a little chrome)? I would also clean up those lights a bit, as far as wheels if its within budget: CCW or SSR? Something to think about, either way keep us posted and thanks for sharing!

The wheels will look too small width wise. Finding hubcentric rings that size also might be a challenge. I have 18X9 and +42 offset, and I have to run spacers in front and rear, and I wish I had wider... And stick with red paint... It will be worth it.

I have a renaissance red and I wouldn't recommend a color change it'll be a pain in the butt! If you end up doing it go with GFM (Glacier Frost Mica) I had that on my IS and it's a sexy color!!!
Either way good luck!

nah im going with the star fire pearl. the car is 15 years old, when im done with the car it won't be worth anything. Maybe if it was a newer or more of a classic that holds its value then i would keep it original, but its not. Also red is more expensive at the body shop my car is at. Insurance is more expensive also for some reason cops pull over red cars more often. I just like the white in general with black wheels.
Also getting out of the car close to the wall..I just slide over to the other side and get out...
Im going to ask the body shop to roll my fenders.

the car is finished being repainted. I'm picking it up maybe later today or tomorrow. I've gotta clear up space in my garage so i can park it in. I'll post up pics up soon.
I'm so excited.
