Default 1998 Lexus SC300 Daily Build

Hey everybody. I've been lurking on club lexus for a long time now but figured I'd actually post since I started throwing parts on my car. I've owned 3 nissans in the past and was involved in the drifting scene but I decided to change it up and picked up this 1998 Lexus SC300 a little less than a year ago. It is my daily while I'm in school so mods will be put on very sparingly as I simply don't have the time to work a lot and do well in school. It started out 100% bone stock. Its boring automatic unfortunately but I plan to swap a 1jz when money allows for it (down the road). Only mods so far are 5k HID lights and coilovers. Not a whole lot but its a good start. Proper fitting wheels are next!

Heres a couple pics:

sweet stance bro! sicker than strep!

ah, what happens when a 240 guy gets into SCs? spend all available money on coilovers and HIDs, then slam it to the ground.

this is a stock lexus, guy. don't you think it's a little low?

haha yes it was a little too low....I've raised it a couple inches since then to avoid unnecessary rubbing over bumps. I could just stiffen the coils and keep it like that but theres no point on stock wheels the offset and width are horrible. With the coils set softer it rides smooth as **** too. It will be low and flush once I get wheels though so flame away
I had to take care of a front brake job first and I did the suspension since they were pretty much blown already. HID's were a gift and they were $30 lol I'm on a budget over here not just throwing money at my car to "slam it" just going one step at a time....feel free to donate to my wheel fund if it bothers you that much! lol

Relocate your wire harness if you haven't done so yet. Welcome to the SC forums.

going to relocate the harness as soon as I get new wheels! I left the fender liners in there and raised it up enough that it doesn't rub so I should be good until I can afford/choose what wheels I want.

UPDATE:

Bought XXR 530 wheels. 18x9.75 +20 all around with 235/40/18 Achilles ATR Sport tires. Got the tires mounted by Corey at Living Dreams Auto Salon and snagged the fender roller from Yoshi. Rolled the fronts at Yoshi's, rolled the rear fenders the next day at my house after borrowing a jack from a friend. (mine broke, need a new one soon) Messed up on one of the fenders because I couldn't find my mallet but its hard to notice, its just a little wavy. Car isn't as clean as it SHOULD be for a Lexus anyways, but I'm kind of okay with that coming from a 240 LOL. Still messing with the ride height and making sure it isn't rubbing, I need to drive it around tomorrow and see how it does.

Some quick pics I snapped:

like i said in the post, one of them got messed up in the process and didn't fold up how it should have.....didn't find my mallet until it was too late and i was impatient working in the 100 degree weather. Just a little wavy not a big deal....if it ever gets a paint job it'll get massaged out

Relocated the wiring harness higher up in the fender so I wouldn't rub through and create a mess of electrical problems.

Just from test driving

Pulled the plastic piece off to expose the wires and pulled the harness off the fender

YAY wires

Electrical Tape

Zip-ties fix everything!

I forgot to take pictures of where it was originally located so use this picture for reference

Time for a quick bath

Heres pictures of the fender I f'ed up.......you live and learn I guess lol could be worse I suppose.

Kind of wavy in that spot LOL
