I like that drag radial look on Old man Tan, now if only a set of supra 16's would pop up around here lol.

Yeah , definitely keeping the 95 front bumper and 97 sides skirts for this car. Maybe also the 97 rear, we will see.

True , the 295/50r16 MT drag radials make this car looks sick with that raked stance brought about by those big tires.. There is a set locally for those mkiv NA wheels ..check our craigs. He wants 300... he probably will sell them a lot less without tires. The seller is an SF member too.

While installing the AC (aero craft) body kit for the Black Pearl, I realized that I am missing my extra set of fog lights and grille. I knew I have one I specifically reserved for these kits . They should be around or I might have sold them , damn it , I couldn't find where they are. Anybody want to sell a good set of fog lights and grille to me ?

I only managed to install front bumper and side skirts today . Been lazy today ...

Can't wait to get these cars painted . They should look good ...one with a 2jzgte / ATF Built Auto and the other with a 2jzgte / v160 6speed . Now the question is .. would I try to learn how to paint and do it myself or let the professionals do it ? I want to learn how to paint .. the most I would loose if I don't like the outcome is paint and time.. then I can bring them to the pros .

for those who want to see the differences in profile / height between the OEM 97 body kit and the Aero Craft Body Kit . The AC body kit has at least 1" - 1 1/2" lower profile that is why it makes the car look lower .

It has been a while since these two SCs had a good bath. Now that the pollen season is over , the AC body kits are installed , decided to give them some power wash . Love the looks of clean SCs . These would look pretty once they get their well deserve paint job.

After a lot of thinking , decided that today I will install the 97 rear bumper from one of the cars that had the AC kit installed so that there is a body line continuity with the 97 sides ....

dang , all my 4 SCs needs painting . I better learn how to do it to save . I have nothing to loose but instead more to gain. If I don't want the results , they can always be brought to the pros.

I'm painting my kit myself, but I have a booth to do it in. If you're not already setup for painting at home it can be pretty expensive. First thing most diy'ers encounter is not having enough compressor for a spray gun. If you have questions feel free to ask- Always happy to share knowledge.

Thank you sir . I truly want to learn since I have so many cars that needs painting . That will save me tons of money aside from the valuable experience and knowledge I get. Then I can always re spray my cars or change their colors whenever I want to if I have the skills.

I have a 32 gallon compressor but I am thinking of getting the one for the big boys.... at least 60 gallons. I have painted one car maybe 5 years ago , that of my son's toy ....but of course didn't come out the way like the pros.. but I believe with more practice one can get there.

surely, I will get in touch if I have questions. Can I not use my enclosed garaged with heaters all around ? Otherwise , I can rent a booth for the final spray . I believe that is what some do. I will do all the prep , which is the most important part in painting cars , at home.

You can sometimes get away with a 32 gallon in a pinch. On a metallic or tricoat(pearl/candy) I'd want a larger tank because I'm not stopping between panels. CFM is really important too- spray guns push a lot of air to atomize paint. Typical hvlp can consume something around 15cfm@30psi. Check the Tech sheets, huge key in everything paint related haha... Although they do make special low cfm guns nowadays (Eastwood for example), but they do sacrifice atomization a bit imo.

Default wow... just wow

i have spent 10~ hours reading this thread from post 1 to now... Very impressive. I love my GS300 and lately have been flirting with the idea of going 2JZ-GTE. Nothing as crazy as all of your builds, but after seeing how you tackled everything... holy h*ll. Hats off to you sir. All of the cars detailed in this thread I would be proud to own. Thank you for taking the time to document all of your 2JZ adventures. It was truly entertaining and definitely fueled my intrigue to undertake this process myself.

Now if i can only convince the boss to let me do it... She's a real ball breaker with watching our funds....

looking around for a 60 gallons Air Compressor. The only thing , everything I see is 230v ... I wonder if I will ever find one that runs on 110v but with that capacity and big of a motor.

And you probably can give us good tutorial thread on how to paint a car . Though I know after the theory , most of it is practice . Nothing better than doing .....

Wow ..10 hrs..... Thank you sir . Appreciate the complement. Go for it , 2jzgte . It will somehow keep the value of your car due to the fact that those drive trains are going higher in prices.

Awww... ... if I were you , though this one might be a bad advice for some , as long as the family financial needs do not suffer , just go for it without even telling her . She sees it when you have already bought it . Most wives will never approve of what we do with our cars. Note that I didn't say ALL . The problem many times is we husbands spoil them . We try to be nice and tell everything. Then they get used to it till they now are controlling everything you do . As long as you ain't doing anything wrong .. go for it !

Ask me how I came to have so many 2jzgte toys without her knowing . She just come home one day and see a new car or 2jzgte stuff. I am by no means rich but my wife do not meddle with what I want when it comes to my toys . My local forum member friends know , lmaol.

Every time I see a picture with all your cars, it makes me wonder how big the average lot size is for a home in Georgia? The average California property is much smaller in comparison.

It's not recommended to paint in a residential garage because there is usually a water heater in the garage. The water heater could potentially ignite the fumes, and then there is the problem with having proper ventilation to clear the fumes from painting.

That is one reason I didn't want to live in CA or NY ... property is very expensive even if one is making a lot more money. You end up having less in your pocket at the end of the day to have a better life.

It all depends also where you get your home here in GA . Like, just behind my house here in Duluth, the houses in that subdivision barely have any lots around them. I have almost 2/3 of an acre in my backyard and another 1/4 of an acre in front of my house. Usually older subdivisions like ours where there are no homeowners association are better cause they have bigger lots and no stupid Home Owners Association Rules which I always hate. Many times even if it is your property , there are a lot of things you can't do when there is a HOA. But houses are older here in my subdivision, you just have to get them remodeled if you want a bigger or more modern one. In my place down south where it is a lot cheaper since it is farther away from Atlanta, it is a 20 acre lot ... lol .. where no one will ever see what I do or will ever see what I have with all the trees around my lot. Prices in GA are nothing compared to CA and NY. That is what drove me down here ... cost of living aside from our beautiful weather and of course my wife. She was born and raised in GA.

Thanks for the info on painting. Was planning to build a huge shop in my backyard here in Duluth or down south ... maybe an area for painting and have a lift since I do work on my cars now which I never did before.

My entire property is .15 acres, so it is smaller than your front yard. lol... I agree with you that not having a HOA is better, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find homes for sale that do not have a HOA where I would like to live.

The thought of 20 acres for 1 home is insane to me. I did the math to see if that was enough space to safely build a 1/4 mile drag strip, unfortunately it isn't.

Better weather is on the horizon.... I have reached a point in which I have to make a decision on what color will Red Mamba Two be. These are my choices ....Garnet Red , Barcelona Red , Candy Apple Red or something I saw yesterday in a Cadillac XTS which I found out is a GM color used in many of their vehicles...... Crystal Red Tincoat .

For those who have been painting cars , is it more expensive to get that Crystal Red Tincoat than the Barcelona Red or Candy Apple Red ?

This is the first car that will need a paint job . It has a nice full black interior so a darker red will be nice I believe . It's 2jzgte engine bay theme is also in black right now.

This is the Crystal Red Tincoat in a number of GMC vehicles . The shade differs depending on how much sun light is on it . Pretty color but is it as expensive as the Candy Apple Red ? I know the Barcelona Red is just a base and clearcoat and not a tri-coat .
