Matt's 92 Soarer build (tired 1J to 1.5J and then some)
Here is a small chronicle of the transformation of a tired 92 Soarer into the monstrosity it is now.
I bought the car for 500$, it had a blown tire, bad starter, half an interior, and no Japanese inspection. It was Mica Green with the two tone green/grey interior, since it was an auto-manual conversion it had most of the center console MIA after the swap. I bought a 2JZGTE and tons of parts while driving it with the 1J, after getting everything together I performed the swap in my driveway.
This is after putting the hood on it (semi gloss black at the time), lots of peeling paint on the nose, FMIC in there with patchwork piping:
Parts and engine prep:
Doing a little port matching and smoothing everything out on the 1J head, valves not in at this point:
Veilside Executive Front:
Evolution side and rear skirts:
Full black interior picked up from a junker ($300):
Jun finally finished my cams, installed and ready to go more or less:
to be continued....

And it's on:
Wedsport SA-70 Bronze, F 9.5x17 +18 R 10x18 +18 (offsets a bit much but it will work), the round blackout tails were on for a short time, they were swapped back to stock:
I liked the Turbonetics T67-1 but I was given an offer I couldn't refuse: a Garrett GT42, it required a bit of massaging but it worked out very well:
Finally got a huge silicone joiner to run an intake pipe on this one, the GT42 also prompted me to make 80mm aluminum FMIC pipework, no sharp radii all tig welded by my shop partner:

The car went into the shop shortly after our first tuning runs, it had some rear quarter damage and I was looking to get those fenders over the Wedsports, not to mention changing the color to big flake metallic black:
The Taki bro's posing with their handiwork:
How it looks at the moment:
You may notice a lot of the blue went away, the powder on the cam covers blistered a bit so I stripped and lightly polished a set that I had spare, the wire looms were all changed to black since the blue was overkill (it didn't look bad on the engine stand!). I've gone from an R154 to a V160 with ORC triple and back again, the V160 ratios were annoying to say the least and a V160 with a triple makes a tremendous amount of noise, the 154 has held everything that's been put through it (wish I could say the same for the mission mount), wheelspin occurs easily when the boost climbs, even with a 2-way and 295s on the back. I've changed from Apexi non-adjustable coilovers to HKS Hypermax and now JIC Magic FLT-TAR.
It's tuned to a nice low 1Kilo of boost, it will still scream at that level, has plenty of off-boost response, and has decent drive-ability during normal driving.

Thanks for the replies.
As for the Veilside, I like it, it doesn't have all their normal swoopty scoops and curls that they love to put in them. It's very plain for that company and I cannot stand about 99% of their lineup. It is heavy and extends the nose about five inches from factory, on the bright side, it has all kinds of relief behind it so you can mount a big FMIC, an overflow tank, etc.

Unfortunately the only functional and reliable dyno on island was shutdown due to noise complaints. They made doubly sure it wouldn't be used again by putting a koban (police super-mini station (box)) about 50 meters away from it.
