I was on Supraforums and some others, just lurked here. I'll be more active in the future. I've learned quite a bit about the JZZ30 chassis and ins and outs of everything attached to it during this process.

Update:

Fixed a small oil leak in pan girdle and adjusted the rear sway bar. When I brought the car off the lift, the damned digital dash went dead! Truly a love/hate relationship with this car. It's been parked for now and I'm driving my FD a bit. I have a spare digital cluster, just need to swap them out, the car is 20 years old after all, I guess it was good that the cluster lasted this long.

One Sexy SC: This Toyota Soarer (Lexus SC) Proves That the J in JDM Doesn't Stand for "Junk"

All great project car builds have to start somewhere. Some begin with a factory-fresh vehicle. Others begin the way this Toyota Soarer (Lexus SC) did: with a blown-out tire, a bad starter, half of an interior, and no inspection sticker.

Man, I forgot all about this thread! Long convoluted story, I sold the car a while back since I had it and a built FD3S sitting in the driveway with a second child on the way. Neither was good for carting the kids around. I got out of cars completely, closed up our shop since my shop partner had just had a kid of his own, and bought a 70 series diesel Land Cruiser.

Fast forward a few years and I was going stir crazy. The wife, being the good woman that she is, thought I should get back into cars.
So, I bought one of these (sorry, not a Lexus):
1982 Celica XX (supra Mk2 in the US)

Then I built one of these for it:
JZX100 VVTI 1JZGTE with 6262 billet turbo
The car has less than 50,000 miles on it, was garage kept, everything was documented and original, and I'm the third owner. I've already put coilovers on it, wheels, tires, and a few other minor things. I have everything I need to make around 450-500 whp at a conservative boost setting. Weight on the JDM model as titled is 2639lbs with the original auto and (way too heavy) 1G straight six.
