Get a $400 2JZ GE block and TT headgasket. The 1.5 is very affordable to buid.

The benefit of the 1.5jz to you is that you dont have to deal with any new wiring harnesses and you can still use whatever 1jz turbo manifold you have. Downside is that you will have to modify some basic accessory parts to fit with the 2jz bottom end due to some slight differences in the motors. There arent really any detailed write ups about what it takes to do the 1.5, but its not too bad. As someone else suggested, you can use a GE bottom end with TT internals to save on costs.

i smell a build thread coming! single turbo that beast!

i like what u done with the gauges. i wish someone would make mass produce those. i'd replace my wood over the glove box with a hidden panel like yours. freaken awesome!

except i'd need a left hand drive version lol

also do the 2j block. i would do it. easy to find. and like the one guy said. no wiring to deal with.

I did not expect so many good reactions to my unique Gauges setup ! thank you guys! Means a lot to me!

For the 1.5jz as I said before, my rear turbo probably done, with all the metls alluminum gone from the pistons. If it all past thru the rear turbo, the chance are thin to get him without damages... and at that point, I rather change to a single turbo setup, but can't afford it now.

The price of an 2jzgte = rebuilding the 1jz head and finding a 2jzge bloc (+ 2jzgte internals it seems???) + gasket for everything, etc. A single turbo cost I think, a minimum of 1500$ bucks.. and I don't have anything big for that price!

Maybe I'm wrong and can find a better deal? 2jzge bloc are hard to find here.

What you guys think? I think it's more affordable to reborn as a 2jzgte than rebuilding a 1.5jz isn't it?

Updates!

So here it is.. just getting back from today's JDM shop' shopping in Montreal, I have bought a very clean 2JZ GTE with auto trans in what seems to be an excellent condition! The motor haven't run for a long time and the compression test give 180 on all cylinders!

Here's in the truck when I picked him up!

Here we had to take the soarer out to have place for getting the 2JZ in the garage! Snowy day..,

Let disamble the oil pan from the 1JZ and other accessories that can be remove for spare parts! The oil pan have to be clean and installed on the 2JZ because Aristo one are front sump and soarer are rear sump.

Here's the automatic transmission... If anyone interest for it? I wont used it.

And finally my new ''girlfriend'' on the engine stand lol! I have everything, even spare parts for those that are broken!

For the auto trans, if you want it, make me a price and PM me! It's up for sale!!

least u wont have to deal with the wiring BS commonly associated with swapping a 2jz since u have a 1jz in there. just drop it in and connect everything.

you'll just have to make the twins run in parallel. not sequential.

He won't have to lengthen the harness, but he will still have to do LOTS of wiring. Merging his body harness to the Aristo harness is not a plug and play deal at all. It is pretty much the same as swapping an SC.
