Default 1992Lexus.. Complete build thread with pictures and links!

As some may know I have gotten several parts ordered for my soon to be build thread. It seems that there is alot of this going on here lately. Well, its my turn. I have decided to compile several threads and links that helped me along the way that would also help those in the future also. I hope that helps to place the ones I found or utilized the most in ONE thread. I have prolly decided to go with a 1JZGTE instead. Some of you are maybe asking why? The reason is simple, I have gotten a hold of several parts throughout many people on here. This would keep my cost to a minimum. I have budgeted around 7K with a single turbo, BC cams stage 2, 880cc injectors, etc. The turbo has yet to be determined, but leaning toward a Garrett or Precision after several phone calls and references on here. This build will be a two month or so build, so check back often. I will post pictures along the way and there will be alot of parts out of my 1992 SC400 for sale along the way. Some of these will be complete motor, ECU with wiring harness, tranny, driveshaft, rear end, full open exhaust, MAF, BFI, and all the accessories except the compressor. Someone already has dibs on it.

I would like to thank the following people who have helped me along the way. Cam from Phoenixtuning, Aaron from Driftmotion, Losaun, LXCLSVE, Skirts, and QuickSC4. I would also like to thank the guys who helped me put together my parts list together. These are civicekxzee for the TT fuel pump, SC300bigtx for the gasket set, crrider80 for the TT clutch master cylinder, and Robert out of Cali for the 95 throttle cable, SC300 radiator, complete fan shroud with cap, all AC lines, coolant overflow bottle, and the fan shroud with pulley.

Here are the following links that have helped me with the clutch install, FMIC routing, step by step, parts lists, and so on.

Now for the pictures of my car currently.

Side view

Back with duals, soon to be single, more than likely, undecided yet.

Quick crappy shot of the interior. No mods here, just adding the pedals, and a 5 speed shifter. Also removing the bulbs from the cluster for P, R, N, D, 2, 1.

Engine bay now.

Parts that has arrived

To be continued........

If you were closer I could be persuaded to take your motor for a builder. Good luck with the build, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

My wheels are ADR Decadence style rims, 19x9.5 in rear and 19x8.5 in the front. There are two things that I don't like about them, is the weight, and they won't clear the bbk upgrade even with spacers. I tried up to a 10 mm spacer and they still rubbed.

Thanks for the compliments. Got a tracking number today and the TT fuel pump is on the way. Still looking for a pedal set.. Stay posted.

I hope everyone stay tuned, it might be a little slow for now, but it will pick up! Here is some pictures of the progress tonight, for a little bit.. Cleaned the overflow tank, sanded down some bolts, and painted the fan shroud, and top of the radiator. I used some high temp on the radiator, and high temp for plastic on the shroud. I also painted a few nut brackets and bolts. Attention to detail on this thread is onmy greatest concern. I want it done right and am not going to be in any rush. The paint appears a little too shiny for my taste, so back to sanding tomorrow and trying another can of a less gloss.. Want it to appear factory black and clean!

Before

After

Sanded these down..

A little too glossy for my taste. Will respray it again tomorrow.

Cleaned up the fan and the clutch

It will be here soon enough. Thanks for the compliments. I used a rag dipped in lacer thinner to clean the coolant reservoir container. A long screwdriver also helped me move the rag around in all the corners to get it pretty spotless. Worked great for me.

I will also be vinyl wrapping my front lip also in this thread.

Nice car looks like a nice stance... Sounds like it will be a fun project to tackle.. I cant wait to see the finished project. Plus good job on the cleaning.
