New Update!
New meat for the front and rear, they are 275/40/17's that look really wide in person. I wanted something bolt on without any fender rubbing or modification required. I was worried that the r888's run slightly wider that it would rub but no issues! The fronts are 255/40/17 Toyo Proxes 4 Plus's.
First impressions of the tires were they were sticky! All of the little pebbles and rocks tinging off the road under the car I immediately noticed while slowly pulling away from my driveway. The car feels well planted and there is some slight "roaring" sound audible while cruising but not enough to bother me (this was one of the complaints of the tires that they were noisy). I bought the r888's with the understanding that they were for pure traction, which is the ultimate goal.
During a 2nd gear WOT pull I cringed the whole time (praying nothing breaks) and the car tracked straight
. It's hard to tell whats really happening because the wastegate is so loud you can't hear anything but just raw chaos lol. Before when I would go wide open the car was super unpredictable and would twist and blow the tires off at about 5k rpm.
Boostlogic NA-T piping & new HKS SSQV 4 BOV
I also installed my boostlogic NA-T intercooler piping which had a welded on flange for an HKS SSQV. My old pieced together upper and lower IC pipes had multiple pipes and couplers to make work, this cleaned it up to only two pipes for the whole passenger side of the car.
I could of gone with the Tial Q bov but I wanted something different. I loved the hks I had on my DSM before and what's better than a 2JZ sound matched with the SSQV. Maybe it's a bit ricer sounding but I enjoy it. It sounds great and is very responsive at low boost.

I can't believe I waited so long to do this, night and day difference in looks and has a sportier "feel" from the old larger 4 spoke stock sc300 wheel. The steering feels lighter as well, which is probably due to the smaller diameter wheel.
The is300 airbag was plug and play with the adapter harness from Toyota, made it truly a bolt on affair. I made sure to disconnect the battery prior to touching anything electrical, and when I turned the ignition on I was half out of the car cringing like
. Cruise control was a bit tricky it fit just barely but the holes didn't align properly so I fastened it down with several zip ties and it works great. I reused the sc300 cruise stalk due to people saying the is300 was different and not usable.
Updated manual IS300 wheel goodness.

So for anyone contemplating this mod don't hesitate it was an hour tops to finish and I'm going to love driving the car all over again.

I am unfortunately slowly parting out the car, and the idea is to sell it soon. I'm in engineering school and saving for a wedding next summer so I have to make that a priority right now!
Car still runs great but looks stock at the moment. Back to stock suspension, stock catback exhaust and still all the go fast mods. Keep a look out for the car for sale for anyone that might be interested in an awesome sleeper!

Oh man say it isn't so... Life priorities are most important though and take precedence over most other things, so good luck with engie school and the wedding and hopefully one day you will get back into the SC scene when the time is right. There are times in life that we have to prioritize stuff. I admire you for doing that , putting more important things in front . I admire a lot of people who at a very young age they are able to play with boosted cars for we know that a well built car isn't cheap. I was never able to do it till I knew my youngest kid out of the 5 is about done with his university degree. And then planned on retiring at 50. Now that I am 52 and all my kids have their own life, only now I am able to pamper myself with all these toys which I was never able to when I was young due to priorities in life.
Kudos to you ! You have your priorities set right . The right time will come when you will be able to play again with boosted cars and reward yourself for the hard work !
