Ah okay. Is that the same has a MK3 diff? I was reading that you can bolt that in with some modification. Whats the plan with the GS3 diff, 2 way?

the mk3 diff is pretty different from the mkiv/GS/LS/SC diffs.

carriers from the mk3 are interchangeable with the 1IS.

What he said! I'm either going to swap ring gears and weld the spider gears... Or I'm going to use the GS diff and modify my subframe to mount the two ears rather than the one that the LS has. Eventually I'd like to get a 2 way.

So the MK3 differential will not work is what your saying?

I was thinking about calling this guy up and lowballing him just because this diff has been FS for the last 4 months. But if it takes more than just some simple modifications it maybe more of a hassle to make it work then its worth.

simple mods they ain't, but if you wanna be a martyr... lol.

you should be able to swap internals with a regular supra TT LSD (mkiv) just NOT a 6spd diff (they're totally wrong ratio)

So if thats the case could one buy a Kaaz/Tomei/TRD lsd for a MK4 and swap it into a LS diff housing?

should be do-able, try cross referencing part numbers for the spider gears, axles, and ring gear with mkiv or GS/SC parts. i know that the '95-97 internals are interchangeable even though the mounts arent but not too sure about the 1st gens. wish retrodrive's site was still up.

Why would you want to see that. Too many V8's in drifting anyways. I can't stand that ****. I mean the 1UZ is a great engine and I'd rather see that swapped into cars than any American "potato" motors.

1JZ should be pretty sweet when its all said and done. I haven't been updating as I've been acquiring everything I need, everything will be done very very soon. A few weeks tops, for everything.

Intercooler needs to have tabs made on the bumper support/crash bar.
Intercooler piping needs to be made (full 3" aluminum pie cuts)
Stainless exhaust needs to be made (4" dual polished blast pipes)
Still need to get measurements for shifter extension (wait til you see what I'm doing) and I also need measurements for the driveshaft shop.
Need to take out the dash/console/etc. for mounting of clutch pedal.
Install Walbro 255LPH pump
Have harness conversion done.

It should all be getting tied up in a few weeks, should have a motor in car teaser pic by the end of the week

a 1jz in a 4000lb car that you plan to drift? seriously?

in for pics of your ssr's after they break from being weakened by powdercoating and then the stress of 4000lbs being slung on them to break traction!

isnt the tt auto diff a 8.75in ring gear and the tt 6 speed diff a 8.875? and then the n/a mk4 diff is 8.5in(or was it 8.625?) ring gear like the ls/sc/gs?

there are only 2 diff codes for the JZA80, A and B. A has a 200mm (7.87in) ring gear and is found in all nonturbo cars and automatic turbo cars. B has a 220mm (8.66in) ring gear and is only found in 6spd turbo cars.

the 2+LS shares the 200mm sized ring gear size with the SC, 2GS, and JZA80.

Get the **** out of my thread. Are you seriously retarded? I don't think you've read a single post in the thread before making your post.

I sold the SSR's. And please show me how powdercoating a wheel causes it to weaken? That 350degrees for 10-20 mins really has an effect on a set of FORGED track wheels right? GTFO.

And as for the statement about drifting a 4000 lb car with a 1jz? The car weighs 3650 from factory, and I have removed everything from the interior/trunk/bay that is unneeded. Car will weigh somewhere around 3300 lbs, similar to a MK3 supra and about 300lbs lighter than a factory SC300 (japanese counterparts come with the 1JZ....).

My old 1UZ made 216/223 uncorrected in about 95-100 degree heat.

So my 1JZ on 10psi, front mount, full 3" exhaust... Should be around 270-280whp.... Yeah man, that sounds terrible!
