Default Project Lexi - 08 IS250 AWD on a budget

Hey guys,

I'm fairly new to this forum, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Igor from Connecticut, bought my 2008 IS250 AWD in October of 2010. I figure I'd make this thread for those of you who are somewhat on a budget like me and keep a diary of mods and pictures.

UPDATE: Wheels test-fitment, pictures on Page 3

UPDATE: Wheels are on, pictures - Page 4/5

UPDATE: Vertex lip is on, picture - Page 6

UPDATE: Car is all DONE, pictures - end of Page 6

Mod list:
- Megan EZ Coilovers
- Vertex Style front lip
- GFX rear lip
- Taillight Red-outs
- Vibration dampener
- Privat Akzent wheels
19x8.5 +30 Front.... 19x9.5 +25 Rear
- Hankook Ventus V12 tires
215/35/19 Front.... 235/35/19 Rear

So far this is it, but I'll update it as I go... any suggestions always welcome.

This is what the car looked like when I first picked it up:

^ As you can see, the car had ugly bumper guards all around. Removing those was number one on my agenda.

I really hated my 4x4 status and wanted to get coilovers really bad. As stated before, I'm a little on a budget so going with Megan EZ Coilovers seemed like a great idea. I contacted Circuit Motorsports on this website and got my package very quick and for a very good price also! I recommend this vendor very much. The coilovers are amazing! The install was very straight forward and they ride surprisingly VERY close to stock. Just have to watch out for pot holes and steep driveways now. I maxed out the fronts right away and still have about an inch left for the rears.

Here's how it sits today:

I ordered new wheels that are on the way, won't disclose what they are yet... but they are cheap replicas. Basically, the whole goal that I have is to have the most looks while keeping your wallet somewhat in check. If that sounds like you, feel free to subscribe.

More affordable mods and pictures are coming soon, stay tuned!!

Looks pretty good, bro. I'm sticking close to OEM as much as possible. Looking forward to more pics.

Nice start. I'm very jealous of the large rear quarter panels the ISx50s come with.

Horosho!! Thanks man! I didn't go with Varrstoen though, something even cheaper haha! I just hope they look good on the car.

Thanks man! Right after my friend and I installed these, I took it for a spin on a softer setting (5)... but the tire would rub against the fender liner on occasion, so I raised it up to (12). Haven't really driven with this setting yet, so we'll see. On the softer setting it really felt like stock. As long as you set the pre-load to zero, it'll ride smooth no matter the ride height.

Car looks great! Just a FYI, bc of your low drop in front, check your front CV boots often for leaks (AWD only).

Yes I do, as well as the infamous wobble between 10-20mph under acceleration.

I noticed that when I was a bit lower then now (but not as low as you as far as I can tell), the wheel wobble & vibration went away. however, that is when I discovered my cv boots started to leak. Since raising it back up a little bit (0.5") from where I was before, the vibration & wobble came back and cv boots did not leak anymore.

Last week I got a chance to put my car on a garage lift, one of those that u drive onto. I was curious as to what the cv axle angles look like. As my car sits right now (25" at each fender) The driver side was something like -11deg and passenger side was -14 deg. These are rough numbers as I measured it with my Iphone which was calibrated to the garage floor. In any case, there was quite a big angle on both front axles. I have pics will upload later.
