a kid (he was barely 20) tapped me in the rear bumper a few months ago in a parking lot haha. got a new bumper put on.

yeah, it's crazy. i think the noise floor in the car is so low that rattles become super jarring. i think it's one of the reasons the wind noise annoyed tons of people too. i'm never going to buy another early build lexus ever again -_______-

i have driven 2 customers' ls460, they really have terrible wind noise. it has nothing to do with the low noise floor, that's clearly flaw in the mirrors/windows.

but by comparison, ls430 is a lot more solid and it's also super quiet. i just hope newer lexus generation that's coming out will have improved quality

Many of the 2007-2010 LS460s and LS600s have a trim defect on the doors that causes the cabin isolation from outside noises to be significantly reduced. Some owners describe this as "Wind Noise." There is an inexpensive and easy - about $5 in materials and 10 minutes labor - DIY fix for this problem that has provided relief for many. Lexus dealers are unable to help with this.

jmcraney, i'm aware of your fix (thanks for sharing that information with the community, btw) but the annoying thing about my car isn't external noise, it's small rattles and squeaks from inside the car. i have one coming from the middle of the dash (which i think there's a TSB for), rattles from the backseat area (possibly the side or rear sunshades?), rattles and clunking from the sunroof, and so on. anyway, the car's out of its original warranty period so i guess i'll have to live with the noises :P

Thank you for your kind words. I am always concerned that I have already said too much about the wind noise problem. But there are indications that some may not have gotten the word yet and it is so easy to fix and the benefit is so great that I thought it would be okay to say it again.
