SC570--The OFFICIAL LS1 SC300 build thread
Track results and more updates on page 27!! Car ran a 1/4 pass with poor traction with a 13.3@107mph 6/14/13.
Bare with me CL, build is going slow in the quest of cleanliness and perfection...or close to it if possible.
After a while of waiting, some good luck and some bad, it has officially began.
Car: 1992 Lexus SC300
Engine: 5.7L LS1 2000 WS6 T/A-65k miles with documentation and maintenance records
Trans: BorgWarner Tremec T56 delivered with pedals, clutch line, even the driveshaft
Mounts: DGR Fabrication
As of right now, plan is to simply get the engine/trans in the car and get it moving.
Details of the install will be updated with progress, so they wont be daily updates, but there will be plenty of pictures to come, and will try and keep the actual transplant step-by-step as to what was required.
But to kick things off and peak some interest:
Engine is absolutely spotless, oil was still golden, all the sensors are in place including the o2 sensors, TB looked brand new and had no build up of any sort. Transmission looks excellent, and came with a Hurst short shifter. Trans will be separated from the engine tonight to inspect the clutch/flywheel.
Still waiting on the DGR mounts, but they should be here soon. Once they arrive, the crossmember will be modified to clear the oil pan, and engine will be set in place, then the easy stuff begins.

Yes sir. I originally wanted an LS2, but the LS1's overall potential seemed more appealing especially for simple bolt-on performance.
Thanks. It should go pretty smoothly. I already have 90% of whats needed to complete the swap, just minor things from here,
Only a half chubby?! As for the motor set:

They only deal with F-Body's and LSX and LT motor sets, but they are excellent. Got me all paperwork associated with the car, plus the vin tags.
I know, I wanted to start sooner, and be the first with an LSX SC, but millertime beat me to it but has also been a big help with a few questions
Thanks YeA, hopefully everything goes smoothly
If you still want to do it, check the link I posted above. It will be a little while cause I just started the house purchasing process yesterday, and will be moving in 1 or 2 weeks. But the engine will be in the car before I start moving, so maybe a week or 2 after that it will up and roaming the streets of Houston.
will keep you posted
Just minor things once the engine is in, but I have had a grin on my face since the engine showed up.
Thanks guys, and I will be sure to have as much documentation as possible, might even do a couple time-lapse videos.
Im still at a toss up if Im going f/i or not. I have a GT4088 here that would be perfect @ 7-8psi, and the cam I chose will work great either n/a or f/i. But time will tell, and if I do decide to go f/i, it wont be till sometime mid-July 2011.
