So I’m back on Clublexus. I sold my GS400 a while back because I was looking for something else. I jumped from a manual SC300 to BMW E30 and I didn’t hold onto them long enough. I figured I’d jump into something newer and test drove several cars. I looked at everything from BMW E60’s, Mercedes E class, Acura TL/RL, and Infiniti M/Q45’s (03-07). None of which felt right, the interior either felt too cheap or I found that many were headaches upon research. At this point, I was starting to regret selling my GS400. I realized that the comfort, quality, and reliability was superior to that of even newer vehicles. Finding a second GS was even more difficult the second time around as many have surpassed 200K miles and those under 150k were going for far more than they're worth. I stumbled across a great deal that I couldn't pass up. Now I'm back for good and this time in a Spectra Blue GS300. Exterior needs some restoration but interior is near mint and engine only had 88k miles on purchase. I don't plan on getting rid of this one & intend on fully building it. For now I'm focused on restoring the exterior while slowly doing a figs suspension overhaul. Going for a track/street inspired build.
okay, got tired of the played out ES1 wheels and was looking for a different look. I'm currently debating between varrstoen ES2 or ES6. Opinions needed from my clublexus family.
I agree with the suggestion about searching for some used authentic wheels rather than reps after reps. Myself, I'd rather roll slammed on stocks than rock replicas. You've already spent more on both sets than one set of used authentic wheels would cost. Plenty of deals can be had if budget is an issue, just shop around!

When it comes to wheels, i'm pretty ambivalent in this area. I look at varrstoen wheels as a "beater wheel" to be honest. I drive almost 3k miles a month so I don't feel like driving that much on wheels valued at 3-4k because in my experience reps are just as likely to bend and get curbed as legitimate sets. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as much of an advocate for authentic wheels, but I also feel there's certain cases where going with reps makes more sense. For example, I wouldn't say rota's or varrstoen wheels are acceptable on a GTR, but for a 16 year old sedan with needed restoration ehhh. There's also other areas of the car i'm more focused on, such as sourcing parts for my swap, and just want decent wheels to roll on for the time being.
