Looks lovely. May I suggest black floor mats to get a bit of contrast in that interior?

Update time. The car now has new leather, and a 5-speed.

Today my swap came in from Jhot. I am a little disappointed since it does have some slight sludge under the covers. It is mostly just a very thin coating of discolored oil, and it pretty much wipes right off. I think running it through a couple short interval oil changes will make it happy.

Hopefully it runs well after a few oil changes and a new oil pump. I'll check the bottom end before I commit to dropping it in. if it all looks bad I will have no choice but to send it off for a refresh...

Anywho, here are a couple pics of the motor:

Ooooooohhhhhh, tuuuuurbos

Harness removed and ready for modding...

Unfortunate sludge

Well, the bottom end looks good, turbo feeds and drains are clean and clear so I am going to go ahead with dropping the motor in.

I am doing all basic maintenance. New timing belt, tensioner, tensioner pulley, cam seals, front and rear main, valve cover gaskets, water pump, oil pump etc etc.

I am also ditching all the sequential stuff and going TTC.

Probably the best news is, I scored an R154 today for $80!!! Woohoo!

Wow man. Where you get the R154? Anyways, I'm in NC. Don't know much about mods and stuff but we NCers need to have a meet of some kind and Wilmington would be a good beach area. Hopefully before it get to cold.

Thanks all. Yeah the interior looked ok in pics, but had some really deep creases and a couple tears on the drivers bolster. I wanted really nice interior and the leather kits are so cheap I couldn't help myself lol.

As for a meet, I am down for that, but my car will be out of commission for a couple weeks at least due to the swap.

MKIII. Going to order the Soarer extension for it. Need a 1j/2j bell also. I am putting the W58 back in behind the GTE for now since I have a new clutch for it already. I will source the parts to convert the R154 to Soarer spec over time and eventually swap it in. Hopefully before the W58 grenades
