Hi Tom
You´ve got a really, really nice looking SC down there! Do you know anything about the cars history? When was it brought to Europé? Not many nice SCs on mobile.de or autoscout.de these Days.
A Lexus day at the Classic Nurburgring would be very cool!

Mit freundlichen grussen

Hello Lettut!

The car was bought new in the USA and shipped to Austria for a special person, a composer for many songs from the austrian and german stars in the 70´s and 80´s. He had the cars 13 years, until his death. i bought the car with 16500 miles like new, only a alpine radio was installed and a handfree car kit from nokia for a very good price (7000 Euros). His nephew sold this car only on lexus pre-owners and people the have experiences with this cars. I had before a IS200 Turbo 7 years and to this time a RX300 over one year best chances to get this car

7000 Euro for that car was a real bargain. Congratulations!
My SC400 was also imported brand new to Europe (Germany). Don´t know by whom, though.

Hello,

i change my clutch lines to 3AN connectors and lines, this is the better solution, i think. A friend can build for my maybe stainless lines in his bike shop with brembo fittings in this size

today, i had become the connector for the reverse light switch, but i forgot to order the Pins

i found all numbers for the parts in a supra Forum and will also post here for the future:

Connector for the wire from the car:
90980-11051 housing,connector reverse switch list 6.83 cost 5.22
82998-12440 terminal,list 6.75 cost 5.16 ea x 2 (PIN)

Also i recieved the srews for the boot from the shifter on the floor, the boot self is in june or july here!

Yesterday comes the VVTI headers from canada, the are for stock, maybe for DIY headers or turbo-headers

really? i bought from a member here in the CL

Today, finally installed the FETsport Strut brace for the JZA80 the left side is little modified to have no contact to the pipe from the airbox. We welded seperate stiffeners on the brace to have more stiffness. Only i will tomorrow change the screws to new. i think, the looks OEM

hy!

news i found a freelance civil engineer for cars, the make a legalize report for my car but i must change the 255/40 to 265/35. we must have maximum 1% tolerance between the front and rear axle wheel. with 235/40 and 265/35 is this ok but i think, i go 1cm higher on the rear with the suspension to have the same good look next week i become the new tyres

the shifter boot is recieved, to have a original installation for the shifter on the chassis. The parts costs 41 Euro = near 50 dollars

also comes the 3AN lines in 42" length. i hope the hydraulic system is yet complete next week also i will install the adapters on the bearing and the lines

3AN vs 4AN

Tom

HY!

I changed the 255/40 to 265/35 to have a legal rolling circumference between front and rear wheels. we have only 1% difference allowed

The 265/35 looks good on the 9x18 wheel

today i token some fast pictures from the SC

enough space

the car drives better as with the 255/40, better response, less tumbling feeling from rear. And with the 2 strut brackets the car feel much stiffer!

HY!

i bought on the weekend in UK a JZZ30 Soarer diff with a TRD 2-way LSD

i will remove this and install the supra TT diff with the 3,769 ratio for the MT swap

the TRD oil is very difficult to buy here in europe, i think i use the royal purple 85w140 for LSD. or have somewhere a good idea for the oil?

next time, more pictures

greets

Hello! thanks!

i have yet maybe 22500miles, not more, no time to drive

@mylexsc400.. my first thought was, the will look maybe not so good, but it looks perfect, not the big side wall he looks 80/90´s Style, looks yet much better and the rear feels more exact as before. i read, you have on rear 10x18! wow... which tyre you have fitted on front?

Hy!

update

my next step is, to make my car legal here in austria, not easy with a imported car with parts without any documents from europe. BUT i´m on the best way to finish this!

normaly, we need 11cm (4,33 inch) chassis clearance or since last year 8cm (3,15 inch) but with full loaded axles

last thursday, i was by a expert for this. i have 9cm (3,55 inch) clearance, and with full loaded front axle to the maximum was allowed in the technical data from the SC, i have 8cm BUT without any extra weight on the rear! and this is a problem. All other things are ok (struts, springs, strut bars, wheels and exhaust).

weight check

front +210kg weight

clearance from the wheels check

back at home, i modified the bilstein shocks. on the rear 10mm higher the groove as standard on front 7mm higher as standard.

start!

front

rear

now looks the SC more as luxury coupe as a drift***** but is good, i like it.

over the night, the car lowered some millimeter more, and it looks better

on the same day, i installed the new Denso cabin filter

left the wrong, but many shops says, this is the right, but wrong, and right the correct from Denso

installed!

So that's how you unstall that thing. I'll have to take a look under my glove box.

It's also crazy to see those types of lowering standards. Makes me appriciate how relatively mod-friendly Canada is.
