next plans are install the IMF Header, change the center Pipe to 3" and a hi-flow converter, install Supra rear sway bar, next year LS400 BBK..... never ending story

Yesterday, i finished the car hifi. The capacitor was not possible easy to install, maybe next time. its not a show&shine, its a "i need only the original place for my car hifi"

i need a cover for the hole

The sound is great! the bass is deep and clear, class A, i like

But on the driver side, the speaker had a little bad sound, like a part touch the memban. also remove the cover and search.

The problem was the wiring from the terminal to the voicecoil. it was bent.

this failure fixed, all ok

But, working on the car, with key in the ignition lock is horrible! all time long *dingdingdingding* i hate this sound.

ok....remove the *dingdingding* the part is in the back of the panel on the left side, very bad place for remove!

found it!

bad box

and the *dingdingding* removed with a soldering iron.

10min later, after reinstall the box, my SC was my best car ever no *dingdingding* more!

Next step: remove the lamp from "unleaded fuel only" it looks not symmetric in the gauge cluster, if light this

Hello!

Long time no news

2 weeks ago, i looked for my timing belt, if its ok, 14 years old, maybe still the oem?

but one thing is curios the belt tensioner is rusty!?

maybe changed to a aftermarket product? i had changed on a 92 SC300 the tensioner, and the was not rusty!

I changed the lights from bulb to led in the center light.

the light is good also i installed a 6-led panel for the main light, but no pictures yet, sorry. the led all warm-white.

Last week, some nice days here, i go to cruise with my daughter and the SC to take some pictures

Also i build the O2-Sensor Simulator from mkiv.com in dual-edition for the SC looks like a bomb but runs perfect

Last friday, i had from my friend the open SC300 (ratio 4.08) here

i removed in 20 minutes the Supra TT LSD from the SC and measured the flange play (sorry, not the correct word). Its 0,15mm..ok.. in the manual max. 0.13mm.

i removed the LSD, installed in the SC300 diff and measured also the flange play this was ok! 0,12-0,15mm great!

41 teeths

Supra TT Parts

boiling the gear ring

measuring the flange play -> perfect!

test the contact from the teeths, return:

forward:

looks good!

i had finished the diff and installed in the SC

On sunday the first turn great! much better than the 3.769 TT ratio. the car feels more sporty, everytime ready to accelerate this week, i will do some performance measurements on street with the 3.769, i had need 7,8sec from 0-100 km/h.

i will test again

Hello!

Today, i done some runs with a G-tech from the first generation

Best time was 6,53sec 0-60miles with spinning wheels (original wikipedia 6,7sec) its good

Time to install the next parts

Yesterday, i looked the PIN´s for the O2-Simulator to connect.

O2 Bank1 / Sensor 2 is PIN 68B (red-lightblue)
O2 Bank2 / Sensor 2 is PIN 67B (green)
Ignition is PIN 1A (black-orange)
Ground is PIN 69B (white-red)

here a "pinout" on the connectors for the 97 SC400

Hello!

Update

I have the pinout updated

Yesterday, i installed the O2-Simulator and the 10kOhm Resistor for the EGR

Today, the car started very hard. i see on the gauge pod the CEL ok..scanner connected... oh! Air inlet temp failure, Water temp failure, trottle position failure and P1400... not good! I checked the wirings and i looked in the ECU Manual... ah!!! i had cutted the ground for this sensors and connected only the EGR Sensor (resistor) . I modified the connection, erased all failures and started again without any problems

On the afternoon, i was on the street and tested if all ok. And no failure! No EGR Failure, no O2 Failure -> perfect the way is free for the next steps EGR delete and IMF Headers

Its much more fun to drive with the short LSD, great in curves, both wheels spin

Hello!

Hy have the EGR Pipe mit the Plates "deleted"

Today, i arrived the 2nd parcel with the PU bushes for the sway bars i will fit this week! Also i orderd a kit for the power steering from whiteline, i hope, this is also in the next days at home.

i measured my sway bars, i have front 30mm, and rear 22mm!!! I think, the SC from 91-96 have a other diameter of swaybars? i read sometimes front 28mm, and rear 24mm???

All parts here for next week, to install the IMF Headers! and 2 weeks vacation

Hello

Today, i started with the install of the IMF Headers

At first, i removed the center pipe with the California catalyst.

nice details...

O2-sensor removed

the rear of the cali-cat

Centerpipe input

back to the y-piece for the center silencers

Main converter

removed!

To remove the main converters are not easy. 1 bolt broken, and the other nuts are very tight! i will remove tomorrow the sub-frame to have more space for the tools i think, i can do paint the IMF-Headers in the night for tomorrow

Why did you paint your headers? I'm assuming it has to do with the laws over there?

HY!

Yes, in Austria, you must every modification on the car (lower, wheels, exhaust,...) go legal. It´s not funny

I like OEM look on my car, and with black headers and the other parts of the exhaust, its easer to drive without go legal

normal, you need Papers of the manufacturer with a test protocoll for this car in Europe to go legal, crazy. this way its cheaper.
