Default 800WHP,SC300, 2JZ,V160, PROEFI, BW S372, Flex Fuel etc...

I did search but maybe i can find a def answer

My car has a 1jz/r154 swap installed right now and coming out today.

Whats the cheapest way to get a V160 trans to swap in? Meaning instead of using supra everything, mix and match type deal. I have a lead on a ls400 differential but what company makes a LSD that will install in the ls400 set-up. I am using the 6 speed driveshaft (came with the swap), anyone have any other suggestions?

I gonna use the 1jz harness and have the installer just wire up anything that wont plug in, or is there a proper way of doing this. I can always send to dr tweak but i dont want to wait that long and he doesnt return phone calls.

I could not find a 6 speed swap parts thread no where.

thank you.

Update Project Completed!!!!!
The story of how this project came to where its at today is post #193

don't you need the 6 speed rear end with a 6 speed? im not an expert on that by any means but they are drastically cheaper than all other vlsd's available, so I would check into that first. I know you will need the axles from a 6 speed when using the 6 speed diff cause they are different length. check out SF.

for the harness I would think adapting the 1jz harness would be a major pain cause the ecu plugs arent even the same for the 1j and 2j.
Save yourself a bunch of time and grab a 2jz TT harness or...

you can make a regular old sc300 harness work by running the 7 wires for the ignitor yourself from the ecu to the engine bay (3 if you are using an aem ems), and wiring the cam/crank sensors to the connector for the distributor in the engine bay.

to get the tach to work you run the tach wire from the TT ignitor to the tach input on the old ge ignitors connector (which you wont be using anymore). and like all TT swaps you have to jump the resistor on the tach, but since you are 1jz you already have that done.

do you yall think its worth the $$$ and the wait to get the harness done by tweak? It should be very minor wiring invalved since i have a 1jz in there correct?

2jz

1jz

do those look even remotely similar to you. I wouldn't call that minor at all. you will have to reconnect every single wire at the plug unless you plan on running your 2j off a 1j ecu.
they don't even have the same type of injection.

You're just swapping the V160 in to replace R154? I don't think you need the harness redone unless I'm missing something. You may need an adapter for the speed sensor, you can get that from driftmotion. The supra drive shaft will be too short because the SC is longer. I would also get a GS400 rear end from gazi and putting a TRD LSD in it, I don't know much about the LS400 diff so that may work too. Is Ben doing your work?

Edit: misread info about 2jzgte with v160.

you should probably just sell the 1jz harness and buy a 2jz harness. people would probably buy your 1jz harness if its ready to drop into an sc.
easiest way is a Usdm 2jz-gte harness, second easiest will be extending the Jdm 2jz-gte harness or just adding the missing wires to your 2jz-ge harness.
or you send the 2 harnesses to tweak and he does it for you.

yes its a complete swap motor/v160trans/ecu/harness but its all jdm 2jzgte from the supra. Quick GS and Balconell are doing the swap for me. Things didnt work out 100% with ben, thats another story. Should i get the DS extended or just get a custom one made?

i have a jdm harness coming with the motor, but its alot $$$ to extend the jdm harness. So i just might deal with being behind dash near the middle of the car. I can use a factory GE harness and add 3 wires? that seems to be the easiest but it just doesnt sound right, no doubting you at all. I dont see why people charge 700-1000 to extend a harness or you can just add 3 wires and save the money.

Anyone ever use the ls400 diff, some people have with success that i read.

anything else im missing?

yeah leaving it behind the dash isnt so bad or get a field harnesses to extend it a little bit.
to use the ge harness with an aem is like 3 wires from the ecu to the ignitor, then another 4-7 wires from the ignitor to the coilpacks (depending on the coils you use). then you wire up the cam sensors and crank sensor to the ge harness. and a tach wire. i think i forgot about the coil wires earlier.
If you're getting quickgs to help you out ask him. we just did basically the same thing to his car , check out his thread.

if you are getting the jdm harness you could just take it apart and seperate all the wires for the ignitor/coils and just extend the 3 ignitor wires and plug them into your ge harness. If you do that, the rest of the wiring can be done in an afternoon. the reason people charge so much is cause no one knew how to do it. If you want it straight plug and play, then you gotta pay.

It's not 3 wires that will need to be added !!! if it was wires then everyone on here will do their own harness extension. I remember about a year ago when i was new to this game i paid ~$910 to get my 1JZ running.
I can help you with this since I did my harness with the help of AliSC3 and Bart so no big deal.
The DS just sell yours and get one made for your SC i will take care of that for you.
Yes just like ALi said i can use a regular GE harness and make it work on your car.
