Default 718Murdoc's build thread

Hi everyone & thank you for viewing my thread.
I had my 92 SC400 since 2007 & my plan was to restore the car. I repainted it in the year of 08 & did a few things to personalize it but never had photos posted online. My car has been a project i've been working on for the past 3 years now. I would wait until tax season to repair it. I would like to show you guys what i've done within that time.

sorry for the picture quality, more photos to come in Hi-res.

There were multiple problems that had to be addressed. The owner that I bought the car from seemed to be an honest cat. He did mention a few of the problems he had with it. But he was a little sketchy so I talked him down on the price. I cant complain, with an old car you get what you pay for.
The pearl white of the car was fading so I priced out a paint job from a friend at a body shop. I'm not a big fan of pearl white so I got him to paint the car in BMW jet black, paint code: 668. I updated the exterior with the 97 OEM body kit. The car came out great, but of course there were the issues with the mechanics of the car. One of the main problems I had was with the power steering. The rack had to be changed & that solved it. As of now the car has been in the shop getting work done to the engine so I'm sorry I can't post any recent pictures as of yet.
more updates to come.

Thanks,
to answer your question the interior is pretty much the same, I did paint the wood grain trimming in metallic black & the center console trimming was also painted in black. The one major interior mod I did was to change the auto shifter to an aftermarket shifter you have to press down to engage like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYPs1Pp0h58

Thanks for the support,
& yeah, this is a big project. So far I've rebuilt the tranny, replaced the transmission lines, swapped the rear Diff for a GS400 rear Diff. Replaced the radiator, the rack & pinion and pressure lines, now its on to the engine work.

I'm just itching to post more pics, but I have to wait until they finish the engine work. Hopefully I will be able to enjoy my car this summer.
Thanks to everyone for your support.

Default Updated photos...

These are more recent pics of my car as of 4/14/10. I picked up my car from the mechanic shop today & it seems to be running much better. The main culprit was the engine computer & a bad engine harness. Knock on wood...
I hope nothing comes up to be a problem later on.

These are interior shots of the new auto shifter.

And these are exterior shots with the 97+ body kit

I'm very pleased with the body work, the only thing that lets my car down are these stock wheels lol. There will be more mods to come later.

Edited for content

Exterior looks awesome. A huge improvement. Looks like a lot of work has gone into the car and it shows
