Default 208Soarer's Build Thread

I haven't done a build thread before (mainly because I sell them by the time I even think to do one), so I decided this was the car I want to do one on. I picked it up about 6 months ago, although I just took ownership of it about 3 weeks ago (F'n winters).

It is a 1993 Lexus SC300 factory manual transmission. Mileage is unknown. This is my third SC300 with a manual trans, i try to pick up everyone I come across. This is Horrel's old SC that he was building and then after he bought his other one this one was no longer needed, I rescued it from the crusher (what can I say? I have a soft spot for these cars!!) and now she will be torn down and resurrected into a moving piece of art (that's the goal at least)!!

It will be done in Phases:

Phase1: Complete Tear down to make ready for color change

Phase2: All bodywork and the color change

Phase3: Rebuild with the Donor SC and all purchased parts-including drive train

Phase4: Hope to god! The finished product is *spot on*

I have a long road ahead, so feel free to follow along as I (with SpooledX2's help) work to create my vision of perfection!!

As always constructive comments are more than welcome!! All negativity can GTFO!!!

Pics as of how she was brought to the shop!

Wow, looks like a lot of work. However, I wish I could do a project like that. The best part is when that car is done, look back at these pics and just admire your work.

Phase one complete, shop is cleaned out and the car is in the shop parked next to my new pro-touring project..... now the madness can commence. I just have to keep Troy on track and not sell it before it's complete.

Should be fun though, he does have a lot of work ahead of him. Phase two, build a rotisserie..

UPDATE: After tearing the car down- Winter hit and that meant that NOTHING got done! That and I bought a dirtbike and felling in love with it! So now that bikes are finished, my dd is at a comfortable point!! Time to attack the SC- My goal still remains that by end of this year the car is in its new color for and the rebuild process has been started. I am still on the hunt for a donor car. i want a 95-newer with black interior
