Default Ongoing "restore to former glory" newbie build thread

Hello all!! I just introduced myself in the newbie section, so I'm ready to post pics for the ongoing build thread. I bought a '93 black Sc400 in May which is pretty beat up with 111,000+ miles on it. If I had to do it all over again I would've bought one in better shape, but I like the challenge of restoring the car to it's former glory, hence the title of the thread.

It's currently black with tan interior, with stock everything, but that will change soon...Here's the plans to be totally completed by mid August...

Oh, wait, I guess I should write what I've already done just to get the car mechanically sound...

Air conditioning(didn't work when I bought it)
Control arm(right)
Manifold gaskets(car smoked through the interior from picking it up, I thought it was on fire)

Ok, here's the plans...
Total interior switch to black, I switched the front seats already(bought from vntperform and in excellent condition and very butter I might add)
Wood swapped for the lighter, cherrywood(or whatever you call it) that you see on the ls430, same for the steering wheel(3 spoke) and gated shifter with cherywood shifter(pretty much like autocoutures with some variation)
Pue white climate control and instrument panel with blue needles
Black lexus mats with chrome Lexus plate on them(hopefully they'll fit the interior)
Blinking sideview mirror covers and blinking mirrors
Halo lights
Rear black leather seats or just the leather
Rear lights(clear on top, red bottom)
New paint job and ding removal
New chrome emblems(without the sc400)
Chrome muffler tips

Rims, tires(i don't know which yet, I'm still debating on whether to dip the factory ones or fill it out with bigger rims)
Panasonic Avic system(the latest one)

I'm going to pick up more black parts from Aliga this Sunday, so more pics will be up then

I think that just about rounds up my plans, so heres some pics

Ok, so it's not uploading the pictures, it says security token missing, so when I straighten that out I'll post pictures
Pics are up now, just had to compress them

Oh, BTW, my tan front seats are for sale. They have no rips or cracks in them and are in pretty good shape. The lumbar doesn't work on the drivers side and the function that makes the seat go up and down doesn't on the passenger. Would rather local than ship. $250 for set. I hope that I'm doing this right since I have 1 post and am new, but i'm sure that i can get a vouch, if not I'll just sell them otherwise. Pics coming once I figure this out

Just picked up a black speaker cover set up from Aliga today among other things. The covers were a bit faded from the sun, so I decided to paint them black

It was too light to get a good picture with it in the car, but you can see how it looked before it went in

Also, the rear panels were changed today, they were cleaned with wd-40(lol, I didn't know that it cleaned as well) and came out very shiny. The rear panels and the rear seat belts along with my seats will be for sale in the classified section once I take pics.

Next for this week is...either cleaning and dyeing the carpet to black if I get the Dynamat this week or headlight restoration and dash changed to black. when the dash is done, I'm shipping the instrument cluster to OLT for the 32 ultra brite lights while I'm at it

Default Wheels

Might be interested in your wheels if they're 16 chrome.

Congrats on the latest addition to the family. Great progress. I hate how those speaker covers get all faded. Painting them black is a great idea. I might try that out this weekend if I have some time. Keep up the great work!

Good luck with your restoration. Aliga is a good source of used SC parts. Paint that wood trim black.. Keep us posted on all the pictures of the progress. I have a couple of DIY on here that may help... Again Good LUCK!
