Default What is a good leather scented air freshener?

We just got our 2013 LS 460 and it smells great inside. It still gives off a faint leather scent. Nothing nauseating and not too strong. I asked the seller what he used and he couldn't remember the brand but said it was just something he picked up at the Dollar or 99 cent store!

I haven't had time to check the local Dollar store and wanted to ask what others are using? I normally don't like artificial scents in the car as they can be overpowering, even the Febreeze kind from Costco. I read dryer sheets also work well but haven't tried that out. I've sampled other leather-scented car air fresheners but they smell more like plastic than leather. Any other recommendations?

FatherTo1 - Chemical Guys do a Leather scented air freshener thats normally only a couple of dollars from Ebay or Amazon, Or you could try the Leather scented tree style air fresheners.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

Linda get's a really nice "new car scent" vent clip at Wal-mart that we put in both the LS and the B2. I keep a "mom's apple pie" Wicks air freshener plugged into the wall in the garage.

Many detailers will tell you that clean leather will give the best leather smell. So keeping your leather conditioned (and the interior clean in general), will be the least "artificial".

There are two things I use

1) Zaino's Leather in a bottle http://www.zainostore.com/product/Z-10.html

2) Yankee Candle Leather air freshener http://www.yankeecandle.com/product/leather/_/R-1220883?&gclid=CjwKEAjwh9PGBRCfso2n3ODgvUcSJAAhpW5o4QbsFc5h6fTi3FS9L7qWA_nyx3hMOeyRPXqrNN0P-BoCqGLw_wcB
#2 is pretty strong and I don't want that much leather scent all at once, so I typically will cut a small corner off the package it comes with and put it in the back pocket behind one of the front seats. It lasts a lot longer that way.

What I use is Griots Leather Scent. Smells good, and you can use a little or a lot depending on your taste:

Thank you, Dave. Was discouraged by the reports of Zaino losing its scent due with the new formula a few years back so I passed on that. Chemical Guys reviews were mixed. Griot's Garage was intriguing and maybe I'll try that later. Went with your Yankee Candle suggestion from Amazon (the original/classic paper product and not the new plastic one).

Just received my order of Yankee Candle Leather and it has a very pleasant leather scent without being too over-powering. I was planning to just cut a corner off, like you suggested, but in the act of opening the package I happened to slice a small quarter-inch slit in the bag and it smelled great and at just the right level, so in the seatback pocket it went (the whole package). Hope I didn't make a mistake and wake up to an intense surprise in the morning. Thanks again for the Yankee Candle nod.

I agree wtih SW15LS, I have used this for about 10 years and love it. People always comment how nice my Lexus smells and then say now nice the leather is, my secret on what the smell really is!
