SOOO QUICK UPDATE. DO NOT USE THE BACK OF DISH SPUNGE MY WINDSHIELD HAS SCRATCHES EVERYWHERE....I highly doubt it would be safe to use steel wool considering a dishsponge scratched the windshield with swirls everywhere.... on another note magic sponge kind of helped. to bad the windshield is scratched up and the haze is still their.....

Glass is pretty hard, however some glass has factory coatings applied. I suspect that you may have compromised a water repellant coating. I'd try an abrasive polish with a DA to see if you can remove both issues. Might try a professional detailer for this if you don't already own the DA and pads.

Get one of these kits to remove scratches etc.
Soak the felt pad in water.
Mix the paste with water to make a slurry.
Dip pad in paste and use a circular motion on screen.
Use a water spray bottle to prevent the work area drying out when polishing.

Well good new Windshield is replaced! expensive lesson learned!!! Thanks for everyones help. 2 takeaways for me:
1. no automatic car washes anymore. I get it washed free at Lexus
2. Dish sponges on Windshields are onononono
