Default Car was parked by a fire.

Ok so long story short my car was standing at a yard where I was getting ready to put in my new transmission, as I was at work my dad called me and told me that the yard next to where my car was parked has caught fire and spreading like crazy so my first thoughts were it's a goner there was nothing he can do to move it as he came a little too late and the firefighters already blocked off all exits and didn't allow anyone to enter. After the fire has been put out I was able to go there and look at what I thought was the scrap metal but instead I found my car still in one piece, however the paint is screwed. I'll have pictures up of it later with more detail but is it possible to resurrect my paint as my car was fully painted around 3 months ago or should I just get it repainted again? the paint is all hazy/cloudy with an unbelievable amount of water stains and when I went to wipe it with a wet microfiber towel the paint didn't change color it stayed exactly the same. Once again what's my best option here get a full paint restoration or get a full paint job once again.

Please post photos so we can actually see what you're talking about. It's very hard to give good advice without seeing the damage.

Will do, unfortunately it will get dark by the time I get there so sometime tomorrow I'll have pics up. If you can imagine a black car that hasn't been washed for 2-3 months while it rained on it at the same time, that's exactly what it looks like except the dust is probably baked into the clear coat.

you could try compounding and polish .. but aermmummm ... if that doesn't work its repaint time ... looks like the fire might have cooked through the clear.

I am going to guess that you will likely want to have it repainted. With the extreme heat from the fire, it is likely the water has etched deeply into the clear. You could possibly revive it, but odds are it won't look perfect again.

This is interesting... I wish you were nearby. I would love to experiment on it and see if this can be revived

Hop on a plane and be my guest lol, there's other damage that occurred to the car, after some close inspection I found a couple areas where the paint actually bubbled and pealed, it also melted my tail light, the plastics on the door, my rear bumper also got some melting and etc.

Honestly I would turn this into an insurance claim. Being that the car was exposed to heat level high enough to melt plastic and other areas I would be worried that it also had the same effect on some of the electrical wiring. You could end up with lots of issues from that car that you may not have noticed or thought about. Unless you have an attachment to the vehicle I would likely guess it will be totaled and you could always buy it back from the insurance company?

There's already an insurance claim, it was made the next day. There's also some interior pieces that got damaged due to the heat as well. The damage is pretty significant for something so small.

A car can always be repnted, but I would be concerned with the damage caused by the heat. Any melted internal parts, metal warp, etc.
