Default Detail Day! 2015 GS

Hi all,

I just spent the day giving my Atomic Silver GS some much needed love. She only has 2k miles on her but I believe she saw her fair share of dealership washes before I took possession of her, so I had a lot of swirls to correct.

- Wash/Dry
- Clay Bar
- Machine Polish M105
- Machine Polish M205
- Surface decontamination
- CQUK application
- CarPro Reload
- Vacuum/windows/interior etc.

I am very, very happy with how it turned out. As always, this forum was my go-to source for information, so thanks to all who contributed to this forum.

Looks fantastic! I've gone by my dealer twice to look at a new in the wrapper 16 GS F Sport. They have not been open each time I look at it and it's been unlocked. The seats feel great. The wife and I bought a 14 RX a year ago and she likes it more than I do, I'm just not an SUV person and more of a car guy. The quality is great but it just doesn't excite me like the F Sport GS. Which would you mostly prefer to drive, your RX or F Sport??

I've been very happy with our RX, but I definitely prefer to drive the GS.

Correct, to ensure the surface is clean of any remaining polish and such, so the CQUK bonds appropriately.

I believe he meant solvent wipe down/surface cleansing as he mentioned clay bar (which is the surface decontamination) prior to the paint correction process.

Very glossy indeed! I can't believe how slick the surface feels now.

Pictures really don't do Atomic Silver justice. Of all the colors of cars I've owned, AS is my absolute favorite.

And yes, she's still very new!

I found it to be very easy to apply the CQUK. I think a lot of this depends on temperature. I did it on a 55 degree day, which provided ample time to apply to a section and wipe down as instructed. I fear it would set too quickly on a warm day.

The results have been fantastic. The surface feels very slick. The car is staying noticeably cleaner since the application, which is of course wonderful.

Yes, use CQuartz Classic if you're in warmer temps (above 60F) as CQuartz UK will become quite tacky very quickly with higher heat.
