Paint Damage (what kind?)
I dropped my car to get a full detail about 1 month 1/2 back at a bodyshop.
Fast forward to today, I noticed these weird water mark looking damage after washing my car. Does anyone know what it is? or could this be a product of bad detailing?

The site below provides different variety of body damage. All the way at the bottom of that website there is one that is very similar to the above damage.

What is frustrating is I see some of these mark on the back bumper, front fender, hood, and other small areas. I can't really think of anything that might have caused this. The last thing that I can remember is the body shop clayed bar the car and compound it. I don't know if that is a burnt mark or what. But it does have some kind of texture. So ya, If anyone has ever experienced something like this please let me know. Thank you.

The first thing I thought of was cheap packing tape. If you put it on the paint and it can leave residue behind like this, but the paint would feel tacky.
It looks like something acidic etched your paint. What kind of car do you have? If its single stage black onyx paint, then a lot of things could have caused this.

Have you tried to remove this and if so what have you used? Hard to tell what this is from the photo, why not take it back to the detail shop for their opinion. Is this the first time you washed your car since the detail? Is this localized to a small area of the paint?
