Default How to repair ripped fabric on door card arm rest?

I was transporting a huge piece of plywood in my 07 RX and it gashed my rear left door's arm rest. the vinyl fabric has 2 one inch tears in it, right near the window control button.

I'll post pics later. How much would it cost to get this repaired by a interior upholsterer? is it worth doing myself?

There are repair kits available but require you to blend a color and texture to match. I'm not talented in that area. My choice would be a mobile interior repair expert such as dr vinyl. Chances are most car dealers of any make in your area use a service and would give you their contact info. In my experience, if you're willing to meet them while on their rounds at a dealership, they'll give you a discount for cash payment. Probably less than 50 dollars. You're going to pay much more if you go to an upholstery shop.
