Harbor Freight Dual Action Polisher Mods that take 15 minutes
So there have been threads on various forums showing these mods, and I figured I would do a how-to video for them. The mods are power button relocation so they are on top instead of the left side, and regreasing the gear head to make the machine quieter and vibrate less. Here are the links!
relocate the power switch to the top of the unit rather than the side
use a higher quality extreme pressure/temp grease in the gear head to quiet the machine and reduce vibration
updated method of opening gear head:
add a longer power cord to the unit to replace the 6 foot one that it comes with
I figured if I were going to do the mods myself(which I did), I would take a how to video for those interested in doing these mods as well. You can see how straightforward it is.

First off, I like to thank you for sharing and making the video. I do appreciated.
I opted to re-locate the switch and re-grease the gears. Re-greasing the gear took the noise level considerably lower.
I also change backing pad to 5" and change counter weight.
With factory grease
Re-greased with Mobil SCH 220
