Default scratch repair

Roads in the northeast are about 70% width right now. Some a hole in a truck drove by me while I pulled to side for him. At the last second his rear wheels slid and his truck scraped against my back panel. He then proceeded to drive off.

The scratch is probably 6-8" long. It doesn't look especially deep. This is under lease. 2014 GS with dark gray paint. Do I take it to the dealer? Or am I better off with a local body shop.

This is good stuff. ...and low-priced to boot. If THIS doesn't work, then it's too deep and you'll probably need a body shop.

Did you manage to get any info from the truck at all....company logo, colors, license number, or any markings easy to identify?

Unfortunately no. It was dark. Is there any risk this will make it look worse ?

Not on painted metal surfaces, where it works best. But it's not meant for flat black trim, regular vinyl, plastic, rubber, etc..... though it does work well on painted soft bumper surfaces and side-mirror-housings if the scratch is not deep.

But, if the truck scraped you with any kind of significant impact, don't be surprised if you end up needing a body shop.

But, in general, I think highly enough of this product that I give bottles of it away as car-warming gifts to those who get new cars.

Depends how deep the scratch is... Post some pics and lets see what we can do. Its either through buffing or touch up.

By the way I believe Lexus do use ceramic finish like with BMW. You might need a polish that is safe and would finish well with ceramic coating. Megs M105 would be a good choice.
