Default My OCD 25k interior...

nothing annoys me more than when seats and steering wheels of a brand new car lose the new leather matte finish and get shiny. I've seen cars with 10k miles have extremely shiny and worn out seats and steering wheels. From day 1 of driving my GS350, I've always made sure to wash my hands before i drive, and done a thorough interior wipe down weekly with Meguiars QID and applied leather masters cleaner and conditions once every 5-6 months.

the result? my interior at 25k miles.

i always wear jeans, and because of this cleaning regimen, no dye transfer either to my light colored seats. My car is a lease however and goes back in March, so all this work for a car that I'm just renting, but hey, whatever makes me happy right?

Looks awesome. Any tricks to get the matte look back on steering wheels and leather?

leather cleaner and conditioner. the shininess of your leather is from the dirt/oil from your hands.

leatherique
leather masters
lexol
meguiar's quik interior detailer
even an all purpose cleaner works such as optimum power clean and meguiar's apc

just make sure you apply a protectant/conditioner afterwards.

LOVE nice clean, matte leather. Looks great OP!

I maintain mine with a quick steam cleaning followed by Leatherique Pristine Clean once or twice a year... keeps the leather clean and soft.

Thats a beautiful interior. I have naturally sweaty hands which is a PAIN for me to deal with so I just wrap my steering wheel in some cover to keep the OEM one new.

thanks for all the positive comments guys.

to keep the interior leathers maintain the new-matte look, it starts from day 1 of ownership.

weekly wipedown of seats, steering wheel, shift ****, etc, anything your hand touches with meguiars quick detailer, and about once every 4-5 months i do a deep clean with leather masters cleaner and conditioner, although when i do this i don't really see any dirt in the soap sud..but the conditioner definitely helps the leather stay soft.
