Tips on how to protect a certain area of carpet

Try this one --- I have the one with the print but they have a version without print but limited to a certain roll size.
It is not super thick and I believe it is the one used in the dealership showroom. However, the idea is to remove it from time to time. I was told it is better to remove it every 1-3 months depending on the temperature. I use it primarily to cover the driver's foot area during the winter as the rubber mat does not cover some critical areas where I would have needed to clean it if without the film.

Also you may contact them and ask if they could get one without the print if you look for a particular roll size. Company seems to be in CA and shipping was considered pretty quick in my case.
And I just use a OLFA knife to trim the film to sizes I need.

It is typically used as runners in new home open houses. I've used it and it is pretty tough. You can add layers if needed. Sticks pretty tenaciously.
