Protecting Headlight Lens

One of the best things I like about car mods is lighting. I'm very particular about lighting so when I saw some imperfections starting to show on the headlights on my Acura RL I decided to buy the Meguiars Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit.The headlights started showing signs of cloudiness but more so on the passenger side. It wasn't terrible but like I said I'm very particular about my car's lighting. I want to have clear new looking headlights that put out as much light possible. I also decided to use the product on my wife's '07 IS which had actual yellowing of the headlights. I took about 10-15 minutes per headlight and was very impressed with the results. Now as most people know it's what you do after the lights have been wetsanded and buffed that will determine how long the clarity lasts. I used the included headlight protectant and a bottle of headlight sealer made by Blue Magic that I picked up last year. I'll be looking at the condition of both headlights over the next several months to see how the protectant and sealer hold up. If the results are lackluster then I'll try Opti-Lens despite the $60 price tag.

I would suggest restore the headlight either by a professional or with a sanding kit (if you can DIY). Then top it off with either headlight coating or even better a clear headlight film like 3M or Lamin X. I have 3M on IS250 and Lamin X on IS350. Both headlights look like new every day regardless being parked outside exposing to sun 24/7.
