Default "The Protector" dealer offer

I just purchased a 2014 ES350 UL and the dealer sold me a protection package called "The Protector." I am having second thoughts on its value as it cost about $1000. It guarantees inside and outside finishes for 7 years.

I would appreciate any comments as I think I can still cancel.

If you can still cancel, I'd strongly advise to do it. These types of programs are notoriously expensive/overpriced and are BIG profit generators for the dealerships and their value is questionable. $1,000 sounds awfully high on top of that.

I got that with my 2013 ES350 and it cost about 400 . They started with a price way up there but every time they asked me if I wanted it and I refused, the price kept going down. I am glad I did now because a passenger by mistake poked a hole in the inside door panel with his umbrella. They fixed it no questions asked and you can't even tell where it was repaired. I now have a couple small paint chips on the hood but I don't think that it's covered. I still have to call them to find out. Yes, I would cancel out at that price of 1000. If you could renegotiate it down low then it might be worth it.

I'll be picking up my car later this week and was wondering what this warranty might be worth, and whether you have to pay for an annual treatment on top of the initial cost. Can't find the fine print anywhere.

I avoid that garbage at all costs. Same with dealer sold GAP insurance. You can always get it waaaay cheaper from YOUR insurance agent.
