Dark Graphic Rims Touch UP FOUND
I have "bumped" my new IS250c-F Dark Graphite Rims against a curb a couple times and like most of you, am shocked at how the finish flakes and chips like bone china, and reveals a white-ish finish underneath (again...like white bone china) that REALLY sticks out. One of them that I already touched up is on pic #1 at the 7 o'clock position.
I found a great solution (Sorry, I know Sewell sells a touch up for this, but I need this fast):
The local Auto Zone had a wall display of "Dupli Color" touch up paints. I studied them for half an hour and after narrowing it down to 3 or 4 that MIGHT work, I bought the CHRYSLER PDR GRAPHITE (M) #ACC 0414. This stuff is made for car paint, but worked great on my rims.
Took it home, followed instructions, IT WAS A PERFECT MATCH! Next scratch, I will apply 2 coats (1 day apart) of the touch up paint, THEN apply the "clear-coat" to seal it. This has 2 compartments of paint: 1 is the graphite paint, the other end has a small brush and clear-coat to go over it. I think it will cover a tad bit better that way, but overall, I AM SOOOOO happy to be able to easily hide my parking errors (uggh!!) and I assume most auto shops carry this stuff.
