Default What does everyone think of MF towels from Griot's?

My local Autozone, of all places, has started carrying Griot's car care products in a little "boutique" section.

They are carrying Griot's MF towels.

I ordinarily get my towels from Detailed Image or Detailer's Domain...Does anyone have any experience with Griot's towels?

I need to replace some towels, and this would be handy if they are of acceptable quality.

You can typically determine quality by looking and feeling them.

Cheap MF just feels... Cheap.

Agreed...unfortunately, the towels in question are in sealed packages of three (or four, can't remember). Ordinarily, I wouldn't consider buying towels from Autozone. But I thought maybe Griot's towels would be OK... But I have never used them.

I think I'll just use my regular suppliers rather than risk it.

Can't you simply return them if you decide you aren't happy with them? Just an idea.

IDK, I've never bought any Griots products but I've read some reviews on their MF. Some okay and some not okay. I would open the package and feel the towels. Are they packaged in a way you can close it back? I would stick with DD or DI or CG but CG takes too long to deliver IMO.

Yep...That's what I am probably going to do...buy a pack and see how they are. Worst case if I can't return them...Use them for wheels or the chrome on the Harley.

Update - I bought a package of three Griot's detailing towels. They seem to be of comparable quality and "softness" to the MF towels I bought from DI..Meaning not scratchy or stiff, feel plush.

I will test them against a small portion of my finish to see if they pass the scratch test, and report back.

I had a problem with the blue speedshine towels linting a while ago. At $18 for a package of 3 needless to say I was not a happy camper and neither was my obsidian paint.

They became my rinseless wash towels though and I am now quite happy wtih them.

Thanks for the heads up - I will definitely watch for that.
