Cleaning illuminated scuff plates
Hi guys,
The illuminated scuff plate on the passenger side of my IS looks like if there is moist or dirt trapped in it.
I would like to clean it, but I couldn't find any existing topic about this.
Does anyone have an idea?
It looks as follows:

Yesterday evening I removed the scuff plate to take a look.
Just to get a feeling, this is what the bottom looks like:
The stainless steel strip you need to remove to access the light is mounted as follows:
I tried to remove the strip, but the material is too thin to remove it without bending or damaging it.
Therefore I cut out the plastic around the light "box" (can be easily glued back and worth a try IMO), but when I came to the light box, I noticed that it is impossible to remove it without damaging it as it is glued or taped into place.
I noticed that the light has a very small hole in the plastic/glass top where probably moist went inside of the light box and made it look like this (it is definitely not the protective foil).
I think I will just have to look for a replacement scuff plate.
Anyone who has a passenger side one for the black interior left over?
