the last pic is the MF towel used after i cleaned all 4 wheels. i just foamed and rinsed the wheels, i didn't use a wheel woolie this time and they got pretty clean just from the foam and rinse. i really have to see Phil for some AF Avalanche, i heard it was better than Mr. Pink and the reviews were pretty good also.

Does anyone know or have a pic of a connector so that I can connect the foam cannon to the gun without the wand? I want to be able to disconnect the wand and connect the foam cannon.

I had to purchase an adapter for mine - you can find the "Karcher X Series Adapter" online to see what I am talking about. It is my understanding that there are a lot of different adapters made for this specific purpose, you just have to examine the fitting on your pressure washer and foam cannon and see which one looks like it will fit. It is possible your local hardware store may carry it.

thanx Z... i have the Black Max. i've examined the gun with the wand removed and i know what the adapter should look like, but i can't seem to locate an adapter that will fit. i guess i'll keep trying, i'll luck up one of these days...

After you've foamed the car, what are the next steps? Do you use the pressure washer to rinse it and use that as the first part of a full cleaning to get the main surface dirt off? Or continue a full wash with the foam still in place?

I can't wat to get myself a foam cannon and pressure washer. I'm so far behind when it comes to detailing products it's crazy. I need new towels, more pads, foam cannon, pressure washer. The list is endless, lol.

There are a couple popular practices with the foam cannon...

Method 1
- Foam Car
- Allow foam to dwell for several minutes in order to loosen dirt and grime
- Rinse Car with pressure washer to remove foam and any dirt/contamination that comes with it
- Proceed with standard 2 bucket wash method with grit guards
- Dry

Method 2
- Foam Car
- Allow foam to dwell for several minutes in order to loosen dirt and grime
- Rinse Car with pressure washer to remove foam and any dirt/contamination that comes with it
- Foam 1 section of the car (ie hood)
- Wash Hood with Sponge or Mitt
- Rinse Wash Media in a dedicated rinse bucket full of clean water and grit guard
- Rinse section
- Foam another section of the vehicle
- Wash that section
- Rinse Mitt in rinse bucket
- Rinse section
- Repeat until entire car has been washed
- Dry



Method 2 only requires 1 bucket (the rinse bucket) since your soapy wash water is being provided from the foam cannon.

Either method is acceptable and safe for your vehicle provided you keep your wash media clean and free of contamination.

Always dry with a soft, clean microfiber drying towel using VERY light pressure. Some streaks and or spots will remain after the initial pass with your drying towel. Finish by misting the surface with a spray wax or quick detail spray and wipe clean with a soft, plush microfiber towel to remove any streaks or spots. Top it all off by dressing the tires (and trim if needed) and you've got an awesome looking car!

If I choose to wash the traditional way, which isn't often. I use method #2, I rinse with the pressure washer,
Lay the foam down extra thick
Let it dwell for 3 minutes
Get my bucket with grit guard
I use 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of distilled water as rinse water
Über lambs wool mitt
Rinse with pressure washer
Spray CG synthetic QD as a drying agent
Dry with DI waffle weave drying towel.

It may seem like alot but I can wash the car quickly with this method and even quicker with the ONRWW wash.

Do foam cannon's ever go on sale & what's the cheapest place to pick one up? Due to budget constraints I'm picking up a Gilmour Foamaster Adjustable Multi-Ratio Cleaning Gun #75QGFMR, but definitely interested in a foam cannon.

Roughly $160 if I try to do it cheap then - $60 for the cannon and then about $100 for the pressure washer? Roughly how much was your set up?

I'll probably end up just going with the Gilmour..nowhere near as cool, but it's within budget.. I'll also be picking up a Black and Decker leaf blower. Do you guys use it to dry your car? I'm trying to minimize costs - I can't justify a $300 MetroVac MasterBlaster..

I use a leaf blower (electric) that works great. I have everything but the foam cannon. always wanted one lol.

bought my electric pressure washer from Amazon for $160 . 1900 psi. works great for the car and around the house

Gonna have to wait a bit after this opti coat installation to pick up an electric power washer. I'm looking at $220 for a cannon set up then? Dang I may have to wash my neighbors cars for a small fee to recoup the expense- which would be doable seeing as they always come up and talk to me when I'm outside washing my whip..or maybe I win the Fl Lotto this weekend.!!
