Alternative to Claying

I just received a catalog from Weather Tech with my cargo mat. There is a product "Wax-Prep Clay Gel Cleaner" that they claim is safer and easier as opposed to claying.
Has anyone used this?

I haven't used it personally, but it sounds like a paint cleaner. I wouldn't call paint cleaners an alternative but another way to decontaminate your car. Pretty effective, especially when used with a da polisher.
