Default Aluminum Strut Bar

I just acquired a RMM strut bar that will be here Thursday and my question is what can i use for polish and possibly remove some surface scratches?

I have some Optimum metal polish but should i get something else or will the Optimum be enough?

Thanks

Optimum Metal Polish is great stuff... it should work just fine for cleaning up the strut bar.

spent about an hour maybe longer hitting the strut bar with M105, Menzerma SF4000, and optimum metal polish.. I repeated those steps about 5 times.. Its nice and shiny but still has some mild to severe scratches..

Whats the next step? Wet sand, then polish? orbital or by hand?..

also what grit is recommended.. thanks

When I was refinishing a Megan Racing Al bar, I wetsanded it and then bolted it on a surface and went to town with my PC. Found it way easier than doing it by hand

If you want to go after the deeper scratches you will probably have to sand... Just like correcting defects in paint.

It's way easier to wet sand metal than it is for paint. Just start off with the least aggressive and progress from there to take out the scratches.
