Do you allow people to eat in your car?

Haven't allowed eating yet, but may have to make an exception for a very long road trip coming up soon. Planning to provide a mug/thermos for every traveler, so I'm not worried about spills. Planning to stop more frequently for snacks, but will also try to find snacks that won't be messy. Will also take a cleaning kit. I put leather protection on this weekend, hoping that will help.

I have NEVER owned a car that I didn't eat in! It's just a car! Life's too short to sweat the small stuff! My wife, my 5 year old, my mother, father, and I just ate donuts in the GS last night! Of course, there were icing crumbs on the floor and a little on the seats, but my Shop Vac made quick work of it all! Last weekend my wife and I ate some Capt. Dee's seafood in the car while we were traveling, my son was sleep and I didn't want to wake him...the quiet time was priceless! I just clean it up when I get home and repeat when necessary.
It's a car not a sanctuary!

True, but how often do people really need to eat while they're driving? Many times we'll enjoy each others company more while leaving our crumbs in the restaurant. I do drink coffee while driving, but it stays warmer and won't spill in a thermos

I generally try to avoid eating in my cars, but sometimes the convenience offsets the effort it takes to clean it up afterwords. Especially on road trips, and morning coffee in the car is an every day event. I suppose it's subjective, but I enjoy driving a clean (and not smelly) car a LOT more than a dirty one, and the effort to keep it clean is usually worth some effort to keep it that way.

i let no one eat or drink in my car, including myself. when i do take on passengers, it's usually me dropping my kid off at school. and my kid knows the rule well enough than to ask if she can bring food or drink into the car!

In the GS absolutely not under any circumstances. In my other car yeah I do but in the front seat only though. I hate when my girl drives my car, she never leaves anything in the car but once she left my steering wheel and buttons and the gear shift greasy.
