Cleaning off anti-freeze on aluminum rims (drove through winter)
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend good products (can be easily purchased in Canada) to clean my rims? They have anti-freeze embedded on the rims as I use them as all-seasons and have found them very hard to wash. I am thinking metal polish + steel wool ball would help me a bit in cleaning them for the summer but not sure what products to buy without damaging said rims.
Is this advisable?

Are you near a store called, "Canadian Tire"? The aluminum maybe raw or coated and that would make a difference. They might have what you need.
Contact one the vendors here on the forum and they would be happy to offer advice and even sell you the appropriate product. Taking steel wool to a coated rim probably would not be a good idea.

Yes, the thing they pre-spray on the roads to control the icing.
I assume this stuff has stuck on my rims and it has made it very hard to clean. Was wondering what suggestions everyone had for how to take care of them now after the winter. Yes, I am near a Canadian Tire shop.
