Default How to wash an IS350?

I have a Smokey Granite 2007 IS350 and I've washed it a couple of times since I bought it. I was just wondering whats the best way to go about washing it as far as to protect the exterior as well as the interior. Leather cleaner, conditioners, soaps, etc. Also the dash board is a weird material and I cant seem to find anything that works without leaving a residue.

Check out the Detailing section, lot of good info in there!

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/aut...detailing-122/

I use Meguairs Quik Interior detailer for the dash, Zymol leather cleaner & conditioner for the leather.
For the exterior I use Meguiars Deep Crystal car wash (doesn't strip wax) and wax with Meguairs products....NXT 2.0 FTW!

This will get moved but I will try to help you out.

I would use the 2 bucket method, with grit guards. I got mine from adams polishes. I also use 2 wash mits. One for the top half, and one for the bottom half. Using a wash bucket, and rinse bucket with grit guards and 2 mits will help cut down on swirl marks.

I use sonax wheel cleaner for the wheels it neutralizes break dust, and adams polishes all purpose cleaner for the tires.
I also use adams polishes car wash. Its ph balanced so when you wash your car you will not rinse at anytime till you are done. Having the shampoo on the car even if its dried is better than having just plain water sitting on your paint. I also use adams detail spray, for when Im drying the car off. It also neutralizes t he water so you dont have any spots, and I use adams great white micro fiber drying towel. That thing is awesome.

Clay bar is important, as well as wax. Check out the detailers section. There are alot of "high end" waxes out there that are affordable. I use meguiers quick detailer spray on the dash and doors, stereo face ect. On the speedo glass, and stero glass make sure you have a good micro fiber cloth. Rub one on an old cd and if it scratches it, then dont use it on the glass it will micromar it. On the seats and other leather parts, I use adams polishes leather cleaner and conditioner. There are other good leather cleaner products that Ive read about but Ive only used this one kind and I like it. It conditions very well, and it smell like brand new leather in a bottle.

I can say adams polishes has good products I use them often, as well as sonax.

No matter what you use, the 2 bucket method like haystack posted is always a good idea.

check that out!

In summary:
1. Rinse with water
2. Pre-wash with foam gun
3. Rinse again
4. 2 bucket method
5. Pre-dry with sheeting water method
6. Final dry with apply-lift method without rubbing the paint like a crazy man.
Why so much work? Prevent swirl marks

Notes the following important point:
1. Use car shampoo that won't strip wax.
2. Never wash your car under direct sun light

The Ask a Pro Blog and our detailing guide are both tremendous resources that have step by step guides for washing with varying techniques.

Also I noticed my paint is looking kind of rough. What could I do make it look more like when it comes out of the factory? Does wax do that?

Have it polished by a proper pro and it'll look better than when it did coming out of the factory
