Default disaster!!!

Someone (maybe me) left a Bic pen on my passenger side front seat and it got hot and the ink is now all over the seat. And guess what---it won't come off. Please somebody tell what to do. I've already had the gun in my mouth three times, but I thought I would try here first! HELP!

ok, this is bad.... ink can penetrate and it's permanent

the only way you can try, believe it or not. go to supermarket and get lemon taste (non-bleach) softscrub, the one that you use to clean kitchen and stuff.. get a soft hair toothbrush, and try to brush a small area at a time and use a clean cloth to wipe out the stuff as it starts to dry

what color is your leather? i have tan and it's working very well on all the stains i have in the past. never tried it on black leather. but again ink is some really bad stuff to play with. this method will NOT damage your leather as far as i know (mine is still perfect) unless you use the hardest brush out there. softscrub are very tiny compound.

if this does work..... your only option is a new seat..... or just go and claim comprehensive insurance and pay the deductible. won't raise your premium

I've also heard that hairspray or alcohol can work. Always test on an inconspicuous area.

Here's the last resort before replacing it:

LeatherMagic:

Clean it with their stain remover and then recolor it their kit. I've seen a recolor job. Looks like OEM.

Good luck.

Have to put my $.02 in.

Buddy pulls up to the house.
Hey can I borrow some hair spray? I'm like sure.
So he takes the hairspray to the car and begins spraying a spot with ink on the leather. The ink stain is not coming out....
He's like WTF? I saw this at the dealers and it worked.

If you do use the hairspray method, make sure your hairspray has alcohol in it.

Default Ink disaster

I've read that ink is oil based and when you get an oil based stain on pigmented leather (ie leather seats) you should avoid DIY solutions. There are products that will take the ink out, but you take a chance in that they will take the color out of the leather as well. I suggest getting a quote from a professional.
